alright so tomorrow evening GTI's getting the factory wheels put on ready to be traded in on friday.

 

Well guys...I just did one of the base tunes...and I am definitely impressed. Much better power band. Definitely feel the mid range torque increase.

Gotta do some more research on these tuning options at my disposal to fine tune it to my likes but so far it's worth every penny. I had fun driving it before but now it's on another level.

decided not to swap da wheels on da GTI and will see wat i can get as is first before doing all da work. well my son will be doing all da work but anywayz. lol. if da trade is bad den ill buy da new car cash den put it back to stock and sell at carmax.

Also received my H&R Springs yesterday from TireRack. Their estimated shipping delivery was next day and I was a bit skeptical since it was coming from 500 miles away and shipping UPS Ground...but they sure delivered (pun intended).

Order placed noon Tuesday....left Nevada at 9pm...arrived in SoCal (100 miles away) around 4am...was at my distribution hub at 730am....on the truck for delivery by 830am.....delivered 245pm.

Got a bunch of measurements to take in order to share before and after dimensions since NO ONE knows how to do a detailed suspension review these days

Good luck with the GTI kenchan. Deep down I'm hoping you end up with a Civic haha. But a WRX is still fun too and 4-door insurance is typically cheaper than a 2-door from my experience.

Speaking of selling cars I got the Title/Pink slip for the Miata...time to clean her up, take pics and post for sale. Maybe even try carmax.

 

I just ask one thing....kenchan, will you violate your personal rule about not posting pics if you buy a new car?

Thanks GAFIT. Yeah Its all at once...kinda nuts. I'm still in contact with the guy and I think we are both in agreement that I'll likely be buying them....just haven't done so haha.

Since I'm in the process trying to switch jobs, I was kinda trying to wait for that PTO/COMP/Vacation payout to justify it. I mean...I have 6.5 weeks of comp saved up so thats a pretty payout haha.

I'm not a fan of the president, but if this leads to the US going back to being more self reliant, then it's worth it in the long run.

We have all the resources we need and yet we rely on other countries to do the work. Look at steal...the Chinese buys our junk metal, processes it, and then sells it back to us at a profit to them.

Some of our US companies need a wake up call. Honda, Toyota, VW, Kia, Hyundai, BMW, etc are all doing just fine manufacturing and selling products in the US. Sad that our own companies chose the wrong path.

 

Sad for those of us that like JDM and German car stuff though!

I bet the value of the stuff already here will go up if this comes to full fruition. Kenchan, your wheel collection could become worth more than it cost you!

u might haz da equipment but most on drugs and can’t handle da hard labor due to schools raising softy arse pansies..

 

Oh she knows I have time saved up just not exactly how much...but the wheels will be bought regardless at that point as a 'good job getting a new job'...and maybe a little getaway vacation planned for when i have time off built up again haha.
