in my youth...on the freeway...didnt notice a motorcycle cop behind me for 1 1/2 miles. i was cutting the corners on some bends. you know...like a race car driver. he pulls me over. long-story-short...with a sincere face, i said...'i just figured the shortest distance between two points was a straight line.' he let me go.

actually...i think he was suprised by what i said. he kinda laughed when i said it.

recently...there was a cop car that would park on the side of the road leading to my condo. he was giving tickets to tons of folks driving home. the speed limit was 25mph. there was even a warning on our condo bulletin board from a resident warning about this cop. he stopped me one night...said i was going 40, but i told him i swore i was only going 30. he was kind of a dick (you know, eric cartman attitude). but he let me go. about a month later i read that he crashed his police car on the freeway close to our condo & was killed. sad, but i think all the negative energy may have caught up w/ him.

Hey, I got my ticked at highway going 88 really I was going much more faster, but I press brages hard when I spot a state police car. It was in 55 zone cost me 400$ + 125$ court expensys. I had clear record since 2005 didn't help at all.

I got a ticket for 88 in a 70 a couple months ago....under "vehicle type" the cop put "SUV".

Guess we don't have many Fits in Washington State yet.

This reminds me once when I was driving my fully modded SE-R around with my friend driving his Civic, and my friend hit a guardrail. The cops came and accused us of racing, and he goes "which car is faster" and my friend said "his" (pointing to my car) and the cop goes "you mean to tell me a Nissan is faster than a Honda?!?!?"

This happened to someone I know. Except it was a "park zone" sign, or whatever, and it was totally obscured by tree branches. The person fought the ticket and won, though. It was pure bullshit. Quiet weekend afternoon or whatever, no one around. Good thing it wasn't me, I would have been like "what the ****!" ...

Speed limits are there for a reason, but attentive and defensive driving will always come out ahead of simply driving slow.

That pretty much sums up what I wanted to say. I drive quite aggressively and do make fast maneuvers, but 99% of the time, I'm doing it to get my vehicle into a more "breathable" space. I get REALLY PISSED OFF at drivers who block up all the lanes and make it impossible for you to move around - it's risky as hell to have tons of vehicles all in a row next to each other and in front/behind of each other, because if there's an emergency situation, you *can't maneuver*!!

So... I very often end up passing people and driving fast just to get into more "open spaces" on the road, if that makes sense. It just really bugs me being crammed in around a bunch of vehicles and making it impossible for me to maintain some safe space around the vehicle.

Then again I generally drive pretty fast regardless, haha

yeah, if your gunna speed. I'd suggest the valentine 1 radar also. Cheaper radars barely work and can't catch weak signals. With my v1, i catch every single freakin signal around me. I hear bleeping and blarring non stop =P thank god for the twisty volume button and smart logic modes
