I'm 48.

Second Honda I've owned. Many years ago I had a '77 Civic wagon.

24, and this is my first new car and only my second car overall. Prior, I was driving a yellow 1970 Volkswagen Beetle gifted to me by my grandparents.

Now I've got my modern steel LX that I purchased on my own! Man, it feels good to step into the future.

You made a good choice. My last two Civics were replaced after 17 years each. I didn't plan it that way, but that's the way it worked out. The Fit should last even longer. The Civic I traded for the Fit had over 305,000 miles on it.

I had so many cars before the Fits I don't want to list them. Having worked in a career in automotive I had endless new cars to drive....free....spoiled car guy...I know.

But when I retired I buy my own now and they are Honda's. I know cars and I know them well. When its my money I go for what I love and what I know is great value.

So, at an age over 60...retired and knowing way too much about cars.....I have a '12 CR-V EX-L and two Fit's...an "07 we got when they were new and just got that lovely Pearl White '15 EX-L

Yeah, we have dogs and the leather is just so much easier.

53. i chose the fit because i'm short and can sleep in the back if needed. i actually wanted a prius c hatchback for the mileage but i couldn't sleep in the back. :-)

Good decision. I just traded in my 2013 Prius C for the new Fit, and the Fit is in every way, besides gas mileage, better than the C.

aside from the gas mileage (which is exponentially better) and aside from the stronger engine, how else do you find the FIT better than the "C?"

A friend has a newish Prius, and his mileage is no better than mine. His cost a lot more, too. While traveling, his starter battery went bad, and a dealer charged him well over $200 for the battery, installation, and "set-up."

I'm actually generally a Toyota guy, but Prius is the one Toyota I wouldn't buy. Corolla and Yaris get close enough to the mileage of the Prius, and are easier to own.

LOTS! I think I could have lived with the C since the "problems" were mostly annoyances, but I don't regret my decision to buy the Fit at all. I paid $2,000 less than I bought the C back in 2013, and I think the Fit is more of a solid car. Here are things that bothered me about the C.

*the ride was rougher than in the Fit. If no one was sitting in the passenger seat of the C, it seriously looked like a tuning fork vibrating over every bump.
*closing the doors sounded tinny.
*the interior of the C is ALL hard plastic and loves to squeak and buzz.
*I could never get the license plate to stop bouncing at every bump. There was no way to secure the bottom of it since there were no screw holes available for it.
*I don't have a garage, so dirt and debris as large as maple tree seeds would get gunked up inside the hatch door during a storm.
*the brake pedal clicked at every press. It didn't do it when it was new, but the dealer insisted that it was "normal" and that I probably didn't notice it because the pedal hadn't "broken in" yet. If you were in stop and go traffic with the radio off, it would drive you bonkers. This problem doesn't exist on my brother's regular Prius though.
*Speaking of radio, the Prius C has one of the worst stock stereo systems I've ever heard on a newer vehicle.
*the whirring noise upon braking due to the hybrid system.
*Obviously, the cargo room is worse that the Fit.
*In "eco" mode, you could not safely pull out in front of traffic. You could floor the gas pedal and the car wouldn't respond. I felt so disconnected to the vehicle in "eco" mode, so I never used it. I don't feel this way in the Fit's "econ" mode. The Fit will move if you need it to.
*I like the technology included in the new Fit.
*I never got used to the brakes. They were extremely touchy.

Basically, I never enjoyed driving the C once the newness of driving a hybrid wore off, and after that, it just started annoying me. However, if gas were still around $5 per gallon, I would have put up with it. Perhaps the vehicle has changed for the better, but I still think the Fit is a more solid car, not to mention a better buy, and MUCH more enjoyable to drive.

Nice choice (both cars) and congratulations on buying the Fit yourself. That does feel good! Oh...nice color choice! ;-)

Super happy and proud to have a car I really earned! I do sometimes miss my little bug though. That thing was so fun to drive and I beat the hell out of it learning stick and pushing it to keep up on Bay Area freeways. After 2 years with the bug, never driving any kind of car with modern conveniences, there was a bit of a learning curve adjusting to the feel of driving the Fit! Everything felt looser and more disconnected from the road-- the poor guy I test drove the car with got quite a scare when I stamped on the brake looking for a clutch that wasn't there! I've adjusted to the experience and now I love my little Mouse.
