excellent. I just joined the bobistheoilguy.com site for help. Looks like people are recommending Mobil 1, AMSoil, or Vavoline. I think I might go AMSoil

Agreed... We've got a KWSC fit, a NA tuned Fit, a soon to be T1R turbo'd Jazz, a bunch of bolt on peeps, and a soon to be HKS turbo'd fit!

2:21am... taking a break from the turbo install. So far so good, instruction manual can definitely use a little work... No major road blocks yet, so far so good... I started at 5:30pm.. so after almost 9hrs of straight install me and a buddy have installed the turbo, manifold, injectors, new spark plugs, tapped the oil pan, oil feed line, oil return line, oil sandwich plate, wastegate, dump pipe, down pipe, up pipe, intercooler, blow off valve, and intake.

Not bad IMO lol... gonna tackle the rest of the intercooler piping, oil cooler, emanage, gauges, and vacuum lines tomorrow....

I think if things good well tomorrow too, I should be all done and good to go by Sunday!

ET, I really hope you can stop by on Sunday to double check my work before I start to crank it over..

I'll give u a call in about 10 hours or so to confirm!

Ill stop by tomorrow for sure.

Looks like you guys made some good progress.

Had fun with the injectors?

When you say you tapped the oil pan did you remove it or leave it on and if you left it on how was it cleaned after?

Great.. thanks ET.

We did make decent progress, but there's still a fair amount of work to do...

The injectors actually weren't too bad.. it was a bit tight, but they squeezed in nicely

For the oil pan, I removed it completely.. drilled it and installed the oil return fitting. I washed it out completely since it was off, then reinstalled it with the high temp gasket maker and new gasket. it was fairly easy to remove and reinstall..

I noticed that my kit is missing the silicone hosing that connects all my boost/vacuum lines.. does anyone know where in town I can get this stuff? I'll need a couple different sizes..

Hey Adam call me so we can work out tomorrow, Princess auto will have the stuff you need for your gauges and home depot can hook you up with some fittings if need be.

Jon and I just finished another front bar install today

Jazz Turbo!

Big thanks to ET for coming all the way up to the NW to look over my install!

I love it.. the turbo spools up nicely and really pulls.. I haven't really pushed it too hard yet.. maybe 1/2 throttle.. I'll be cracking her open real soon tho!

The car is running ok, there's a couple of little glitches, but I will look at fixing them soon. I think I need to adjust the idle a little between 500-1000rpm.. i am finding it hard to get going from a stop without bringing the rpms to above 1000... I was told that if I just adjust the idle/fuel at 500-1000rpm all will be well.

I do have a CEL tho. Hopefully I can get Justin to check it out with his scangauge soon. I talked the Ben and AJ-R and he said there is a new map coming out at the end of the month.. it'll fix the CEL that I have which is a barometric pressure sensor issue. The new map is supposed to be pretty good as i'm told.. they are just tweaking a few little things to make it run smoother.

I hope to have this for the 30th.. if not, then I will just do the regular dyno w/o tune.. and then maybe go back for a dyno tune after I have the new map loaded!

We'll have to have a meet soon so you guys can all check it out!

Very nice! Glad to hear things are working out, I am sure the tuning glitches shouldn't be too hard to resolve. Can't wait to check it out!!!!

I should be ready, I got word today my new manifold is on it's way from Cali. I have to do a swap when it gets in, should be straight forward. Then borrow Justin's scanguage and get rid of that annoying Low-EGR CEL forever!!

So Nick if it`s on it`s way, any chance of it being here Saturday? We could probably swap it out if it is

Adam anytime buddy, I guess the cel came back on as soon as I left eh? Your car is probably running a slight bit too rich at cold start idle and it`s creating the slightly sligish acceleration from a stop and the low idle for those few seconds on start up.

The generic basemap you have is not for your specific setup so a dyno tune should fix all those issues and give you a safe and taylored solution.

With that said I`m with you on waiting for the other basemap from Ben and going from there.

Ya, it came on right after you left.. lol..

I think I have a boost leak now too hehe.. I was driving to work this morning and everything was good.. then all of a sudden I couldn't hear the BOV anymore and I wasn't seeing any boost on my gauge. I took a closer look and the hose clamp on the turbo outlet isn't tight.. atleast from what I could tell.. when I wiggled the pipe a bit and the hose clamp on the turbo outlet moved with it.. i think if it was really tight it shouldn't move at all should it..?

I'm gonna go check it out in a little while here.. just gotta get the right tools together and have my morning coffee!

That would be pretty kick ass

Last time it wasn't too bad for the WR manifold shipping but you never know with the shipping from the US. The UR pulley kit was a bit of a nightmare

all clamps should be tight and any hose should flex but not be able to rotate on the pipe it is connected to.

well hopefully it's all here in time, let Jon or me know if you get it in time for the install.

Hopefully the UR pulley nightmare doesn't continue during the install

Not a big deal if there is no time, it is something I can tackle in my parents garage on a weekend. No special tools required like the pulley, whew!

lol, just hit it with a heavy duty impact gun! I think you need +350ft/lbs for this one!
