Good/bad idea Adam?
Just found out that the wedding isn't actually til the weekend after! So i'm still in for this sunday. I don't think I have time to do a tune, so just the dyno will have to suffice for now.

Hey ET, since i'm running a bit rich... if I up'd the boost to say 7-8psi would that mean I would be less rich?

depends where you are running rich in the rpm range. If it's out of boost it won't matter.

If it's in boost it will lean it out yes but your timing won't be properly set for the new boost value. It's not a huge change but on a new engine like the Fit's we don't know the limits yet so I wouldn't chance it.

I think Skunk2 ran a stable engine at 18psi.... but then it blew up at 21psi

Doesn't the Kraftwerks high boost use 10psi?

psi's mean nothing man until you know on what turbo.

a GT42R pushing out 10psi will make a crapload more power than a GT28RS pushing the same amount of boost.

All I remember from street tuner challenge is that fit put down 145whp on 3 cylinders and they were afraid she would blow.

I think just like the older d series engines, 200whp will be the rough limit with a good tune.

I don't know much about the emanage and MAP tuning, but I got a reply from Ben at AJ-R about how to increase/decrease fuel. He mentioned that if I wanted to increase the fuel I would need to hook the emanage directly to the injector harnesses.

Fortunately I don't need to increase fuel, and he said to decrease the fuel I would just need to adjust the MAP. (I don't know why he has MAP in all caps, but I am assuming that I could just fine tune the 6psi map that came with the kit with my laptop and the software). Unless MAP has another meaning that I am not aware of.

Ben is going to replace the wastegate that he blew and then hopefully get onto a dyno within the next couple weeks. I think once he releases that new map I will get a dyno tune done.

Ben was talking about the MAP sensor that is near the throttle body on the car. I don't know how it could be adjusted though I think it's just voltage going through so something would need to tap into it and tell it it's not getting what it thinks it's getting...

Adjusting your fuel map is a good start but you also always need to look at timing for boost applications so you don't end up with ping and knock.

A safe basemap can be created that will probably retard timing a bit more than needed and fuel usually is a bit rich but that keeps the engine alive. The only real way to fine tune after is by using a dyno and getting it tuned by someone that knows that to look and listen for.

So Adam, Nick, are we still good for Sunday? I will be expecting you guys to be at the Mustange Shop at 2pm so we can get our dyno on!

Jon if you want to drop by you're more than welcome to. We'll probably be there about 2 hours total to dyno all 3 cars.

I almost made 20 more whp than predicted! woot woot!

Do you guys remember what my best run was? I only ended up getting data from 1 of my passes.. I think Toma accidently printed it out twice.. the only sheet I have says 154.9whp 146.3tq.

So I spoke to my buddy Allan. He used to work at speedtech and now works at Silverhill Acura. He is really familiar with Greddy stuff and he wants to tune my car for me. He's the one who installed the greddy turbo kit into the 08 SI in town.. and a few others..

Hey ET.. do you think once I get the new map from Ben, Toma would be cool if I used the Dyno to tune, but had Allan do it over him? What would the cost be if I did that? $100/hr?
