Hi Guys,

Camping was really really rainy!!

Tires held up with lots of highway driving totally loaded down with tons of gear (I am talking the entire vehical loaded to the roof). With me and the GF included, I probably had close to 650lbs in the car. There was a slight rubber smell from after one trip out to Elbow falls, but no clean marks on the tire and I didn't hear any hard rub.

Also one more thing; when I was looking closer at it up at the falls, I noticed they may have slightly cut the plastic fender edge when they installed the tires, they also went to town on the plastic clip. I will take some pics of it when I get a chance.

Cheers!

hey Sugarphreak, bad break on the rain........

i am going to swap in a set of 205/40/16, +42 to see if i have any rubbing with the gf210's. currently, as the springs are setting, i have had rubbing on pas rear/front and dr front..bumps etc and only with a passenger (195/50/16 +45)..may be difficult to tell with the +42, but if there isn't any rubbing at least i'll know i have the option of going to 40's rather than 45'...i like the ride/look with the springs so will play with the tires till it works.

the springs r just the right frimness, no body roll at all, even more fun to drive, but i got to get rid of the rubbing....will update in a couple of days

Split personality?

Yeah it has been a finicky process trying to get something that works

A neat idea somebody mentioned on one of the other postings was machining off a few millimeters of the backside of the rims to change the offset. Kind of a neat idea, not really sure how easy it would be to do though.

JDMISH and i went through that...not recommended....i dude in vegas is running 205/40/16 and gf210's///just waiting to hear back from him if he has experienced the same issues and that is why he went that way...i am putting 205/40/16 +42 on tomorrow..if no rubbing i'll take the little hit on gas milage for perfromance and run 205/40/16 on my +45...will let you know in a day or two..i run hard so if no rubbing everyone should be good to go......and 205/40/16 is a good size to get used if need be... no one has the answer so i will test till it is right!!! hey the sun is out and it didn't snow..life is good!!

Yeah I went to see that wheel place near Varsity Chrysler...they don't recommend machining anything off the wheel, could compromise integrity of the wheel...

Good to know! I guess I will stay away from doing that

DaveVM, I am interested to see how you make out with those tire & springs, keep me posted. I am super worried that I am going to run into more trouble with the GF210's!

Here are those pics I promised, it looks to me like they cut the plastic fender a bit.

No making fun of my dirty car! I havn't had a chance to clean her up since the trip!

HEY ELLUSIVE, exactly what jdmish was told (was looking after me at the time)....and at the time i waited a more than a couple of weeks for the answer and the company also had the wheel to check ....so hopefully i make good..the fit performs just right lowered!! and if the 205/40/16 works i get a wider shoe too boot!!!!!!

Yeah I've learned to live with the little bit of tire rubbing...I don't plan on racing around the city, so I won't have a problem in the future. I'll rub once in a while, but nothing to be of concern. I guess if you are going to track the car and put it through its paces, then I would definitely monitor the rubbing. I think 205 tires along with +42 and possibly +45 offsets with any size wheel will have the potential for rubbing, but that's just my opinion. The Fit does handle quite well when lowered, I can't complain

hi all, a couple of days driving on a a set of borrowed 205/40/16 +42 with the tanabe gf210's. with 2 people in the car i ran over the known spots where the tires rubbed before, which was almost all the time as the springs set, and i can report no rubbing now. pushed the car a bit on corners and then drove without avoiding bumps, road waves etc and no issues. car definately looks lowered now with this set up. i will now mount 205/40/16 on my wheels with the +45 offset...fyi

Good to hear there aren't any problems. My rubbing is only in the front after my rear bumper mounts were shaved down. Makes a nasty sound

Sweet deal, you should bring your ride out to the meet in July!

Hey Illusive, you still rub after you removed the inner plastic fender in the front? Where is it rubbing?

I didn't remove that inner plastic crap in the fender...I'm pretty sure that is where I am rubbing. Currently running 0 Toe and -0.4 degrees camber...

Pics, as promised!... I know I know, dirty engine I have no excuses

Turns out it sounds great! I was a little worried because of some other posts on other threads said that it was going to sound like fart-can, but it has a nice deep roar over 4000 rpm.You guys can have a listen yourself at the next meet.

So happy!

Cheers
