How long did you wait for your Fit ?
I ordered a Milano Red Fit AT yesterday. Actually, it was one that was already on order from the dealer and they put my name on it. They just received this week the build date of January 10. Oh well, patience is supposed to be a virtue. Congratulations to everyone that has received their Fit!

Yeah, well, kinda, sorta
Stopped by my friendly not-so-local dealer today in commemoration of the completion of my fourth month waiting for a Fit (which began 7/5), to get an update-
Initially told there was none- still waiting. So I said, where am I on the list, then? At this point, 4 months and counting, with no change, I'm ready to pull my deposit and head off for a Scion or Nissan dealer. Into the back office where they're tracking everything on boards, and there, under the salesman's column, is a car with my name on it. Just added; build date of 10/31. A blue manual, just like I ordered, and a Sport, which I didn't order.
Consternation all round. They'll start calling around on Monday to see if they can work a swap. If they can't find another blue base 5 speed, they can probably find a 5 speed base in some other color. In which case I'll have to decide which way to go- a blue car or a base car. But if I hadn't gone in and kept asking for updates periodically, probably the first time I would have heard about this mixup is when they called to tell me the car was in, at which point things would have been stickier.
Moral of the story: Patience is a virtue, but you need to keep on them every few weeks while you're waiting to make sure you're getting what you ordered.
More to come, but at least there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel.

Still waiting on mine to arrive. Was in the states on Oct 31. Taking the sloooowwww train apparently to get to the east coast. Last known location was Indiana on its way to Baltimore where it will finish the journey by Tractor Trailer. Hopefully by the end of the week. So close but yet so far....

It took 179 days from order till delivery but I got exactly what I wanted at MSRP. They even gave me the same trade-in value in Nov. on my RAV-4 as they had offered in May. And they matched lower accessory prices from other dealers.
ALSO - in the 179 days from order till delivery, the state had raised one of the fees from $100 to $250 - but the dealer honored the old/lower figure and ate the $150 increase.

I think there has been couple of big deliveries to US, so you may have better luck looking around. My dealer is scheduled to recieve next manual sport in March!!
On the other hand, I waited 4 months, and do not regret it one bit! I am happy as a clam with my little black manual sport...

My BOM Sport MT showed up today. I take delivery in a few hours. Just my luck though, we are under a tornado watch, and winds are blowing around 40mph gust with rain. Guess I'll find out how she drives in high winds the hard way. I'm definitely being careful on the way home. I also have to work the next 5 graveyard shifts....not much time to enjoy and play, but still happy the wait is over.
Picked it up this afternoon. Thank goodness the tornados didn't develop. No problems at the dealer. Sport Muffler and Bumper Applique were installed by dealer. Muffler has a nice growl to it from the inside, but not exceptionally loud outside, which is nice I think. Will be putting on the HFP rims next week when I finally get some time off work. Drives like a dream. The clutch is definitely soft, doesn't take much to disengage, getting used to it though. I must say it was worth the wait. This was my dealers FIRST and only Manual Transmission since they have been selling them. Lucky me, four months and 17 days in total. Now I'll have to see what it looks like in the daylight, since it was already dark when I picked it up, and I'm working til 7am.
We were able to go to the local dealer (Dick Ide Honda), whom I would not readily recommend, and were able to buy our Taffeta White Sport AT right off the lot. They said that someone ordered it with the Brown/black interior and it came with all black. After reading this, I am so glad we didn't have to put in an order. I feel pretty lucky too.
