What makes you rethink your fit?
I believe I said "fit killer for me"...wait...oh yes that's what I said. I don't care about space as I own a truck if I need space, I've already bought and paid for my fit so anything is going to be more money at this point, you mean to tell me that I get 170 hp AND the same MPG as the fit out of a 1.4?!?...SIGN ME UP! Less reliable than what? Fiat left the North American markets before you were born (27 years if memory serves) and from the reports I have read say that Fiat is now a very reliable brand (compared to the trash they had here 20+ years ago.) So yes, the Fiat 500 Abarth could be a fit killer FOR ME. I never said anyone else had to like the car, and I certainly never said it was a Fit killer for everyone, just me. I get that you love your fit, I love my GD3, however my love of cars does not die with the GD3, and 500 Abarth is on my radar.

Ugh, I'm not going to bother anymore.
Although, I can't say I'm surprised by what you've said. After looking at your pic thread, you seem like a prime ricer who isn't a car enthusiast so much as a tool.
MUST COLOR MATCH EVERYTHING.

Safety made me rethink the Fit a bit... It was a bit irrational perhaps since I ride a motorcycle as well, but there are things about the Fit that make me question the safety. For example, the roof strength is low compared to even other superminis and compacts (probably the reason they offer no sunroof), and the Accord offset crash with the Fit should give anyone chills. Top it off with the larger Civic only getting a 3-star all around rating, and Honda refusing to test the fit under the new standards, it makes the safety a bit quetsionable.
As a motorcyclist, I'm used to the concept of defensive driving as a primary means of defense over passive protection, but with the tC, I have good emergency handling, stability control, and a much more robust safety cage. I'm moving to Texas, so most of the traffic around me will be heavier, so it seems a good tradeoff.
..........
Ok we get it. If youre here to just stir shit up then you need not be on the forum.. I feel like it's hard to believe you're only a couple years younger than myself because your immaturity is astonishing...
Back to the topic.
I love the way the fiats look but they're just a tad bit too small for me.. Not the I'm a big guy or anything but the fiat and the smarts are about the same size and nomatter how the crash tests rate then I feel like they're not substantial enough to hold up in a wreck
Anyone else have a vehicle they would potentially trade their fit in for?

The only other car I considered when I bought the FIT was the cooper s clubman jcw because of its similar footprint and better hp. If it wasnt for how much mroe it was I would have bought it. I think i could have dealt with the diminished interior space but I am more than happy with the FIT. That is not to say I wont get a mini down the road...maybe a classic and do a b-swap turbo awd (hmmmm) :D

I can't see why anyone would be dumb enough to trade down from a Fit into a Smart - its expensive, small, and a disaster waiting to happen. Even if you live in the city - given cities like NYC with crazy traffic, I wouldn't want to be caught on the road in a Smart.
If you're smaller/shorter than average, a Mini or Fiat might be a fun little car to consider, but just say NO to Smart, that's just dumb!

The things that concerned/bummed me with it is for one, I don't dig the barnstyle doors. If they had an option for a life gate like the Fit/Cooper and other traditional hatches then that would have swayed me more towards it. Then there was the single suicide rear door, there should have been 2 of those on the car from the start so some people don't try to retrieve an item from the back seat on one side of the car and end up having to all the way around to the opposite side to get said item. And finally there was the issue with Prince 1.6L, if I recall correctly it was a bolt that backed out of a certain pulley (in lucky cases broke off) and allows oil to spill out of the engine around the 35k to 45k mile range. There was an article about it on MotoringFile and MINI USA didn't regard it as a recall if I remember right (not sure if it applies to the 2011s+).
Then I was dead set on the Countryman prior to its US release, "larger than the Clubman" is what many people were saying it would be (which is true) and it looked damn good to me on TV and the computer...until I seen it in person. Physically, it was about the same size maybe a tab it smaller than the BMW X3 which isn't bad... but the GD3 has JUST AS MUCH ROOM inside without moving the front seats and looked like a morbidly obese English Bulldog to me. Sure, its a higher quality car overall (material and build wise excluding reliability) but comparing the GE Sport to the non-S Countryman the GE Fit would have been a much better buy (in my opinion) and at least 300lbs lighter with about the same power.
After reading through this thread since I last commented, I agree with you. The Speed 3 guys are a joke compared to some of this shite..
I dont like the new civic.. Looks to much like a corolla..
And I looked into the mini s as well.. I liked the speed of it but it felt a little too small and I wanted 4 doors.. And the clubman looks funny.
Back when I had my integra I wanted an RSX so bad but I was 16 lol.. Still wanted one when I got my fit but I decided it would probably be my demise either actual demise or demise of my wallet because of insurance cost) and from the front it had DC5 character lol
