yeah i planned on using obdII just cuz i really dont wanna spend time cutting, splicing, heat shrinking and all that jazz...(<--nice pun>.<). Last thing, did your fit stall any or get sluggish while it was "relearning" the electronics?

Well I totally would go with 9's and 8's but its a bit agressive for me since its just a dd, and on top of that i dont have the camber you do. I was looking more towards the 7.5's all around...i want to be able to rotate them without worrying about tire direction and staggered widths...

If i get the 7.5's or even 7's im just trying to decide on tire sizes and whether or not i want a little stretch...

i was thinking for either of the 7 sizes i could do a 205/55/15 and have some nice beef to my tire finally

if you are going to get 7.5, go ahead and get the 8s, you will not regret and tires are cheap. for an 8 get 205/50/15. its the fastest tire combo for that wheel size per spec miata real racers. also, if you want even cheaper, get the 7" and use a 195/50/15. same rule applies to them.

If you want to rotate and not worry, Id just get the 8s. looks great and plenty of meat and not too over board. lots of tire choices!

if you plan on staying with the L15 with no FI, the 7s will work perfect too.

all in all, i would just get the 8s.

is there a reason why i shouldnt go with a 205/55/15? that is the closest to the stock 185/55/16 diameter and circumference...

the 55 is a bit tall and will increase the rub chance for sure. also, its probly a little bit softer and more sloppy feeling. what kind of tires you want? i forgot to ask that, i naturally assume extreme summer tires. .

some high perf all seasons...something like a kuhmo ecsta asx for instance.

i think im going to run into clearance issues with an 8" +36 up front...its 7mm less inner clearance and 19 more outer than what i have now...

And if not a 55 on a 205 how about a 215/50?

Like i said I dont really know about the GE8, but in my case, its almost like no matter what the specs said, the crap just worked for me. of course ive always had mass camber. not to fit the wheel but because i wanted it for track.

here is what the indifference in oem wheel vs my front wheels now. I dont rub at all and i track this thing where the suspension compresses the most.

only mods that could account for this is 1. the fender liner pop up trick, 2. my 12k front springs, 3. -3.0° camber in the front.

here is the comparison pic

Take in mind this program would NOT let me choose 9" wide wheels with a 225 tire. my current setup is 15X9 et 36 with 225/45/15s
so the results would be even more extreme than this. this is kind of like a slightly sugar coated version due to the programs limitations..

If its not possible for me to get that program would you mind plugging in the following data for me

185/55/16 Stock Tire
16x6 +55 Stock Rim

205/55/15 Choice #1
15x7.5 +42 6ul
205/50/15 Choice #2
15x7.5 +42 6ul

i keep looking at this going...i want more beefy i think i might end up just buying the 205/55's and if i absolutely hate them ill just buy the 50's

I just cant make up my mind between 7's and 7.5's...the 7s are cheaper tho...thats probably whats going to sway me.

here is the basic chart we go buy

15X7 = 195/50/15
15X8 = 205/50/15
15X9 = 225/45/15
15X10 = 275/35/15

these are the fastest tire to wheel combo.

well right now i have a 205/40/17 which sucks because its very low pro and im sick of dodging pot holes. that is foremost #1!

secondly, that is already a smaller diameter than the stock 185/55/16 and the 205/50 is even smaller still. so instead of getting my car lower to the ground and adding beef id rather add beef and get it back to stock height clearance.

i believe its as such - bold is stock and closest match, blue is current, red is your suggestion

185/55/16
Stock Diameter: 610 mm
Stock Circumf: 1915 mm

205/40/17
Current Diameter: 596 mm
Current Circumf: 1871 mm

205/55/15 - Closest
Future Diameter: 607 mm
Future Circumf: 1906 mm

205/50/15 - Your suggestion
Future Diameter: 587 mm
Future Circumf: 1843 mm

Hey no worries at all, if anything im glad you questioned me because it forced me to actually think about it more...Im sure after my warranty expires I will buy a nice CO system(which i had but had to sell ughhh) and lower the car, add camber and make it much more track friendly and when i do, different tires will be necessary anyway. but i think I will be very happy with some of these 6ul's in a 15x7, unless of course you convince me to get the wider ones lol.
