DIY: LED Door Sill Lights

Okey, I'm going to tell EVERYONE now, that this is probably going to be the WORST DIY thread EVER! I got totally carried away with the install and took a very minimal number of pics. SORRY!!

Again, as usual,

FITFREAK.NET and/or "FIT OF RAGE" is NOT responsible for any damages, traffic infractions or ANYTHING!! Do this modification at your own risk!!

Ok. So here we go. Here's a list of what you're going to need:

TOOLS:

Electrical tape
black and red wire, probably 16-14 gauge
rubbing alcohol and a towel
sidecutters
pliers
electrical splices

Now, this thread is going to be told in the EASIEST and FASTEST method. NOT the BEST method!!

1) measure up how much wire you'll be needing and loom them together with electical tape:

The wires shoudl end up looking like this:

2) Remove the fuse panel cover and locate the dome light circuit. It will be at the TOP LEFT HAND corner of the fuse box. There's a green connector with only 2 wires going into it.

3) As you can see in the picture, I've use wire splices to tap into the "+" and the "-" side.

4) hide the wires behind all the trim panels. You will need to take your weather stripping off and your trip panels off.

here's a pic of the panels removed and the wire tucked in:

5) Now, put the LED strip onto the ledge on the door:

6) Now, all you have to do is power up the LED strips form the dome light circuit:

7) Put everything back together and you're done!

Obviously it's only one side, but you get the drift. All you have to do for the rest of them is hide the wires. That's the hard part. If i end up doing another set for someone, I PROMISE i'll do a better DIY on it!!

Again:

SORRY!!!

Like I said, i'ts probably the WORST DIY EVER. Ppl, PLEASE don't kick me out of Fitfreak.net!!
