Well the Civic SI and RSX Type S both come stock with 2.0 Piping, and I think 200+ HP is good enough for this car, so i don't want to push it with large diameter piping.
EDIT: Oh, and any advice what to do about the muffler? I heard a clip where there was no muffler. It sounded nice, but its alittle too loud and burbly for me.
Wow, I didn't know that. I guess the K-series are different. With the B-series people tend to go with piping size 2.5" for NA and 3" for FI. I guess I need to stay updated. Thanks for the info.
ok i want to know everything about the honda sport mugffler that honda offers for the fit, how loud is it without being in a garage, does it add any hp, its going to be on a manual transmission, im getting my fit real soon and i want to know how it sounds and how good it is, i want pictures of everyone that has one on there fit and i want any video of what it sounds like please, i really want a drive by video of one in action. thanx everyone!
I'd be interested in the results others have with this as well...but it seems to me the only benefit for this is 'looks' and 'sound'. If I'm wrong, I might actually consider this and a header.
Nevermind...after seeing this, I don't like the 'look':
ya i kinda looks a little low but i dont mind that, i might see if i can raise it up alittle bit so it doesnt look so much out of place, but i dont mind it very much.
I have noticed on a few sites that the aftermarket exhaust seems to be for manual tranny only. Does anyone know the reason for this b4 i shell out bucks only to find out my auto tranny runs worse now.
They will all fit, just dont go to big! or you will loose to much low end power. 2.25" should be good. But many exhaust on the markets are 2.5".
If do loose more low end power then you wanted to, you can add a light weight, dampened crank pulley that will add power through the whole rpm band, especially down low.
Honda says the hfp exhaust is only for the m/t, because it might increase the noise level on the a/t.
A header and a catback exhaust is what you are looking for I think. I think for the Fit, it doesnt really matter how much power it makes becuase it's a Fit and its not going to be a 13sec street car w/o major mods. So IMO, it just depends on what tone of exhuast you are looking for. My opinion, don't flame me.
i have the Spoon drop in filter with spoon b pipe and axle back.
very nice exhaust tone (deep and not high pitch)
witht he filter it actually helped the L15 feel more up to making power after the 4.5k mark (im sure the K&N will do the same) so i would upgrade your air filter and go from there.

Ya I'd like to see that.. I just got my fit this weekend.
I'm going back to honda tomorrow hopefully if they have all my parts in. If you want, I will put up a vid for you guys with the difference. I have a stock MT. They are putting on the sport exhaust tomorrow hopefully. I figure I will rock it for a little bit till I get the money for the good stuff.
I got a Storm Silver base MT with 6.2 on the odometer!
is a lil more sound and a better looking exhaust too. im 44 years old maybe the oldest living fit owner i got it to replace my civic that i still have with 300000 miles on it. Reliability is more important to me than performance so i was gonna do a drop in K&n and the axle back exhaust. I have a white fir sport auto if that helps.
