regarding the head-swap:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...ompatible.html

i remember reading about this and deciding that a complete swap (including tranny) would be the best route. i've also read that the new l15 block will have an integrated exhaust manifold like the r18 in the civics? can anyone shed some light on this? it would be a shame if it did

Sure does, and what's going to be the kicker is when people start coming out with an improved valve train! Now that's when the ish is gonna start getting interesting.

i personally dont really see a point of doing an entire engine swap to go from a fit engine to a fit engine. all that time effort and money to gain like 8hp and a couple minor engine upgrades? go big.

but subscribed for interest.

it's only 8 hp and 1 tq, but the torque is more usable. i feel the new i-vtec head will have a lot of potential with aftermarket add-ons. plus a used L15A7 will probably sell for like $1500 once the new Fits have been out for awhile, and should swap right in without any major modifications. a K20A goes for $5000 and requires a lot of custom fabrication and modifications (costing around $7000 for the full swap without labor if i'm not mistaken).
a K20A would be sweet, but for $7000, i'll pass.

I want to look at that muffler and see if it fit's? I bet I could pick one of those up real cheap as soon as exhaust systems start coming out for the GE.

I think it is still SOHC isn't it?

Also with the redesigned integrated exhuast and totally redesigned block cooling channels I doubt you will get the full delta of 8hp and 1tq out of just a new head.

The real question is, how well will it respond to mods.

I want to see the difference of the head on my car ! and the pistons and rods as well. It should make a big difference.

I want to see a back to back Dyno and see how dramatic the torque difference is across the power band.

I have this feeling that the head is not going to bolt up with so many changes, will be looking forward to seeing if it is a possibility later on.

Changing the head for one with an integrated manifold? Doesn't sound that good to me. Look at the R18 civic and the HUGE number of choices you get to do with it.

Totally Ken.
Im in the market for a InDash nav system and have been doing resarch on them for the last few weeks. I can get a pretty good system for around 750$, but its a Pioneer, which isnt bad but id rather have a Honda OEM system. Im sure it will not be cheap, 1400$ at least. Well see though.
