Anybody got a picture of the 09 shifter boot for a manual transmission. I want to know if it also has the silver trim ring like the 07-08's do. I need to order a few misc parts for my 08, and figure I could add that to the list as well, but want to make sure it will fit before ordering.

Here is a shot of stock GD3 Suspension parts on a GE8 for referance
It looks like the 2nd gens might make out better then us from interchangeable parts. They can lower there car for cheap, just need to buy a 1st gens stock springs

at that price you could boost your Fit and buy an aftermarket in dash nav

I guess you could look at it like the 2nd gens have an "advantage", but our shocks are so crappy I don't know how much fun that swap would really be. If the 2nd gen springs really are significantly softer, I'm not sure how well those cars would ride. I wonder how the handling from G1 to G2 compares? It would be kind of funny if the 1st gens smoked the 2nd gens on the twisties...

In any event, I bet the aftermarket ponies up for GOOD shocks for the 2nd gen cars over the 1st gens. G1 will always be a stepchild for some reason.

I'm working on being the guinea pig for this one... but no one seems to have stock GD shocks, which I'd rather run since they are at least valved to go with shorter springs. I think running GD springs with GE shocks may be a bad idea, but I'll probably end up giving it a shot if I cant find any decent GD shocks.

The valving on the GD shocks is really weak, and IMHO the shocks themselves aren't very high quality. I've got a set that I bought to experiment with, and one of the rears is already just about shot. They came from a guy who converted to coilovers, so they don't have a lot of miles on them, either.

There are some internet parts dealers that have the OEM GD shocks available pretty cheaply. Like $100/ea for struts. I don't think there will be any issues running the GE springs with the GD shocks. I would imagine that as long as the construction of the springs stayed about the same (coil DIA, length, etc), they'll probably bolt together Ok. It would be nice to see some pics of the GE parts before you commit any $$$, though.

Agreed. I think it would just be more accurate if it was called 'The GREAT (not) "transferable parts from GE8 to GD3 thread' :[

Anybody know if the overhead handles are transferable? In the 2009 they are fold down, and I'd like to replace the one over the driver - I'm tall and I'm always hitting my head on the silly thing.

i went through all pages and this thread is pretty much useless. Somone needs to make a list or interchangeable parts. Instead of people asking the same sh!t over and over.

I, personally, am curious as to whether or not the GE door sill cover plates will work with the GD. Looks a lot better, IMHO.

I tested fit all three pedals. The rough sizing shows me they fit. The metal is a bit thinner than I expected but it looks very OEM.

Since the new fit sucks so bad it seems people would instead be wanting to swap parts from the gd3 to the ge8, weird huh? LOL!

Yes, it is from 09 accessories. I got it from Bernardi for under $60. The SKU is 08U74-TK6-100B. Here is the image of the box:
