just a few posts above yours - looks like a GE owner has swapped out their stock suspension parts for the GD suspension as a temporary lowering solution.........

Man shipping costs so much from bernardi. I like how the ge8's window visors are only $54, why can't gd3's be that that cheap!

There's a difference in the transmissions? Unless there's a 6th gear, it doesn't seem like that would be worth any effort at all...

Are you serious? It has carbon syncromesh 2nd and 3rd gears. Not to mention better gear ratios. At least that's what I read on TOV Aisa. I hope they have the same tranny here. Anyone know?

From a Honda press release for the 2007 Fit:
Gear Ratios, 5-Speed MT
1st - 3.462
2nd - 1.870
3rd - 1.321
4th - 0.970
5th - 0.757
Reverse - 3.231
Final Drive Ratio - 4.29 (3.2475 in 5th gear)

From the Official 2009 Fit Engineering page:
Gear Ratios, 5-speed MT
1st: 3.308
2nd: 1.870
3rd: 1.303
4th: 0.949
5th: 0.727
Reverse: 3.308
Final Drive: 4.62 (3.3587 in 5th gear, offset by taller but narrower 09 tires)

I guess they're a little different, but not by a huge amount. Better? Dunno. I'd sure rather have a 6th gear with a deeper overdrive than I would a 3-5% change on most of the gears.

I'm sure those are the spec's on the USDM Fit. If you looked at the link I posted up you'll see the Fit RS has a much different trans compared to it's previous model. It didn't note the gear ratios, but the fact that the 2nd & 3rd gear will last longer makes a big difference.

Any word on if it's going to bolt right up or not? I won't be able to sleep at night until I know for sure......

Has anyone confirmed if the optional '09 Honda Fit Automatic shift knob fits the '07-'08 Automatic yet?

i believe this is incorrect, at least for US versions

from my reading, this engine L15a runs all 16 valves, but the intake valves are staggered in opening, and one opens with less lift than the other,

when vtec is on, the second lower lift valve, is locked to the 1st intake valve, and therefore runs off of the 1st valves cam,
which makes both valves open at the same time and the same (taller) lift.

I just bought a GE8 and was actually looking to buy a GD3 passenger seat, for that exact reason. I'm not even sure if it will fit (no pun intended).

Does anyone know if the GD3 front passenger seat installs in a GE8?
The passengerside seats on the GE8 have the seatbelt attached to the seat as opposed to the actual car (from what I read in a post, there was a pic too but I cant find the post). Would it fit on the rails, seatbelt, etc.

It's too bad most of the parts are not interchangeable between GE8, & GD3.
