For me, it was so I could see out the back window without having to remove the headrests.

As it turns out, the rear headrests from a GE8 do not fit the GD3. We went to a Geocaching event last night and I ran into my buddy who has a GE8. While he was showing off the Navi and voice command stuff to my wife and kids, I was pulling his rear headrest to check it against mine. The shafts on the GE8 are roughly 3/8 of an inch closer together than the shafts on the GD3 and they appear to be larger in diameter.

I am working on a carrier for the rear headrests (hmmm... I wonder if there's any money in that?) as I hate having them tumbling around in the hatch area. I can't just leave them at home because I never know when I'll have rear-seat passengers.

I've been able to put on the 09' manual sport pedals on my gd3, Fits fine except that the gas pedals on the 09' has the top right corner cut off. So when you put on the gas pedal on the gd3 the top right corner of your gas pedal will be exposed, but its not really even noticeable. I say do it!

I’m back on this mood light thing…
I’ve installed them, and the switch looks like shit. I’ve posted pictures of the switch modification and how it looks in an album under my profile here in FitFreak.net.
Is there a JDM switch that fits the hole available? If so, what is the P/N? And where can I get it?

Yeah, I agree that's not optimum. Can you take a photo of the mood lights though? What color did you install? I'm sure you'll be able to find a better switch cover.

As far as I know, there is not an option for color...they only come in blue.

JDM might be different.

If you buy the GD version of the footlights they're available in blue and amber. Theres also no switch so you don't have to worry about it not fitting.

do they ship to the US? How much is the shipping? Is it resonable? Did you buy from them?

The telescoping steering shaft would be the only thing that is of interest to me.... If it'll work let me know.

I need help with remote starter

I got the remote starter and modified the harness to install it on an ’07 Fit. The ’09 has a “B-CAN” signal that the remote starter takes. The ‘07’s don’t have that.
There are also dip switches on the remote receiver/computer. Can anyone tell me what the switches are and what they do? It looks like the remote starter receiver/computer is a universal unit that you set dip switches for the functions. I think that if the B-CAN function can be turned off, the unit will work.
If someone has connections with the “inside”, that would be great if you would share the wealth!
Thanks…

+1

"we" know the GE8 steering wheel will fit the GD3, minus audio controls, which is one of the only reasons I'd switch anyway...I like to maintain that modified yet stock look.

Has anyone tried this? it's really only $260 worth of parts...which if it allows telescoping in the GD3, is hands down worth it in my opinion.

Anyone know if there is a harness or go around to make audio controls work if the GE8 wheel is swapped?

I hate adjusting the volume by reaching as occasionally i accidentally turn the stereo off..

input guys?

if you want to wire up audio controls, you just need to run the wires, etc. but you wont be able to use it with the stock headunit.

Does the GE have a telescoping steering wheel shaft and if so is it a part that transfers to the GD?

Anything is possible, it looks like it wouldn't be a simple straight swap. Looks like some of the mounting brackets might have to be cut and rewelded into the correct location to work with a gd.

For those that have that already transferred the GE8 parts to a GD3, please post the pictures. That would be more exciting to see than just reading it.
