For giggles I went to the local Honda dealer where a friend works and they had the 09 accessory leather knob (AT) in stock. He said bring in to see if we can rig something. It fits exactly!! There is a trim piece that snaps over the screws on the 09. anyhow I now have the 09 leather AT knob on my 08...pics to follow when I get home from work...til then the AT knob will fit

ps you will need to buy the trim piece that snaps on the front..comes seperately....

the economic version of VTEC will have both intake valves open but one of those valves will be a quarter open which will create a swirl and give the engine more low end torque.

also for the head swap if it stays with the honda thinking everything is the same youu just need the different gasket and the coolant channels maybe off a small amount but nothing to stop doing it.

I looked at the parts diagrams for the steering column on Bernardiparts.com and the news isn't good. I appears as if they redesigned the ENTIRE steering column for the GE instead of just adding a telescoping end like I had hoped they would. In order to acomplish the swap you would probably have to get into some major fabrication to get the new column to fit into and behind the old dash. Oh wells It was worth looking into anyway...

thank you, person who ACTUALLY TRIED the shift knob before claiming it wouldn't work. funny, you'd think ANYONE would think to do that.

So just to clarify before ordering, the 2009 Honda Fit Sport AT Shift Knob has been confirmed to work correct? What about the optional Blue Interior Illumination?

The rear headrest do and dont fit....by that I mean the post will fit down the holes witha little push. But on the 09 headrest the post are really really long and bottom out with the head rest still way up high. I m sure a little cuttin could fix that. The 08 headrest post are short.

i thought the distance between the posts were different, so they couldnt fit even if you tried forcing them to.

anyone know about the remote engine start? That's the only part I want off the new fit. I would really like to remote start it now that its in the 20's outside at night and early mornings. I don't wanna plug in an engine oil heater, just have it start and warmup to defrost the windshield.

Got my amb light kit....everything plugs in and it works the only issue I had was fitting the light switch into the spare slot next to the mirror switch. The button is shaped differently then the slot. Trimmed one set of corners off hopefully it'll fit...if not more trimming. Before routing the wires I plugged it all in...turned on the lights...pushed the button and bam! purdy blew lights. more to come later

Is this the '09 light kit or another manufacturer? Do you have an '09 or a GD3 model?

The reason I ask is that my dealer told me for sure that the '09 ambient light kit would NOT work on my '08 because of the different dash configuration.

Working on uploading the pics. I have a GD3 and it is the 09 ambient kit. I had to modify the on/off switch a tad...because where it fits in next to the mirror switch is bit different. Besides the button ordeal it fits and connects perfectly....

What color did you get? So the only mod you have to make is the on/off switch fitting? How do you take out that switch plate - do you punch it out from the back or what? And yes, please if you can show me how to install the light kit I'll do it myself. Or call another dealer who can put it in for me. Maybe if I order it through them and then show them that it can be done.
