Had a friend wet sand and re-clear coat the Seibon CF hood. This thing looks brand new and it was in really bad shape. Can't wait to get it back on the Fit!

Spring Cleaning

Took the driver's seat out to get all the built up gunk from underneath it and to give it a good vaccuum as well.

I replaced all the coils and spark plugs with OEM ones just a little over a month ago. This morning I started it and got a P0303, and a random misfire. P0303 cylinder 3 misfire was the one with the loose spark plug last time...I feel that the thread might have gotten stripped (by itself maybe?? i dont know) and it's giving me problems again.

No effect in driving or starting, doesn't give me any problem but last time that CEL came on it was bad news...

Waaaay too pissed off at the Fit right now. Jeez, since when was owning a Honda so much work!

Today I clipped a garbage can and a recycling bin that someone had thoughtfully left halfway off the curb on my way to work, and destroyed the passenger side mirror utterly. It also dented the weather seal along the outside of the window where it impacted. So I've got a couple questions. I got a new mirror assembly on the way thanks to the internet. But it is 'paint to match'. Are the mirrors actually painted the body color? Mine seem to be just a glossy black, not the midnight mohawk pearl of darkness or whatever whimsical name they call the black ones. Secondly, is the outside window weatherseal (along the top of the door panel, not around the edges of the window) a replaceable part, I can't find a part number or anything for it on any of the normal parts sites.
I also decided I need to replace the back hatch handle, but I can't figure out how that comes off. Anyone done it?

Some maintenance this weekend.

Brake job

Brembo blanks and PBR/Axxis Ultimates


Stinking retainer bolts. One came out, 3 drilled out.


Done without any drama.


Anti-squeal's instructions of "apply liberally" taken a little too far...


Properly broken in, the performance is night and day. Always amazes me how much braking improves with new pads and rotors. Ultimates dust much more than the OEM pads they replaced, so I'm sure I'll be cleaning the rims more frequently.

Checked everything, nothing loose or messed up at least that's what I think. CEL went away. No CEL for 50 miles now.

I hope that was just a one time thing.

finally installed my Tanabe rear strut bar. had to use vice grips on the upper strut rings but the top nuts came loose without much of a fuss.

had too many of these decals lying around to not stick one on...

also used some blue magic metal polish to spruce up the medallion tip... looks worlds better now

Washed, partial bluff, clay bared, re-washed, and waxed the Fit today! This is the cleanest it has ever been. First wax job of the beast too.

I began tearing it down some more so I can do more engine and drive train modifications to beef it up to stay together with the increase in power I'm anticipating.. I will be ordering a lot of stuff in addition to what's in the barn and in route at this time..

An advanced design in crankcase ventilation.. Innovative engine and transmission mounts, oil cooler. Possibly using a total of 5 methanol Injectors, a lighter flywheel and beefier, clutch some lighting improvements and if I can get some help a limited slip differential.. I just want to get all I can done to it before I am too old to drive well enough to enjoy it.. I'm ordering the mounts tomorrow and will be pricing the other items I don't have on hand. It is still supercharged.. I have picked up some ideas that will make more power with out taking the engine life expectancy down as much as it would minus them.. Who are you going with for a lightened flywheel?

FYI you still need to shave down the transmission mount from the innovative mount kit. I used a file to round the edges on the aluminum bracket that bolts to the trans to help ease installation.

Thanks for enlightening me about the transmission mount.. I'm trying to find out what all I can about which flywheel/clutch combo would be best for me.. I need feedback about the mounts about the hardness of the urethane.. I can handle some buzzing at idle but would like some comfort on long drives at highway speeds which can be as high as 85MPH for some distance on toll road and on rural interstates. Which choices do you think would best serve me?

I chose 75a. They say for that mount size and durometer it should hold roughly 300hp without to much movement. The inside vibrates more when cold and idling, but once driving you don't notice it as much. The response in throttle input and acceleration is a definite plus.
