This is what the OEM ones look like in the US. It's just a single flint bulb. The JDM ones come in two variants. The white/clear 12 LED version and the red 6 LED version.

Here's my JDM red 6 LED 3rd brake light.

IMO, I think this is a great investment. Not only do LEDs have a ridiculous lifespan, but they're also significantly brighter (so better for safety and visibility). They also go for about $120 so it's not a bad price. In conjunction with the JDM LED taillights, they light up the night when you hit the brakes.

By the way, where in Arlington are you? I am frequently in Arlington!

If you mean the third brake light, EightyFour covered everything better than I could have, if you mean the LED bulbs I'm using, they're Philips. This is what they look like:

The placement of the LEDs is intended to mimic that of a 7443 filament bulb, doing so they're actually street legal in many housings, unlike a lot of plug and play LED bulbs.

LEDs usually fail due to heat, if not properly heat sinked they don't last long at all. These are ceramic, which draw the heat away, so hopefully they'll last a bit.

I don't think I'll use any other LEDs, other than the license plates lights which I already changed out with osram 4000k bulbs. The rear signals and reverse lights look their best with filament bulbs, since the housing is clear. I'm trying to keep things as clean as I can. As far as lighting goes, the only thing I plan on doing still is a retrofit, in the next month or two.

Whoa I really like the 6 LED light. Also the red/smoked JDM tail lights look sweet! I love the honeycomb design on the brake lights.

I'm in courthouse area so unfortunately my car is always parked outside. It gets dirty the day after I wash it. Also, there's so many GE base model Fits around here I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Last weekend: Washed, clay'ed, polished and sealed the GD3 for the first time in two years.

Today: Tried out my Avanti Storms on the street to check for clearance. They're a reverse stagger of 15x9 ET+35 front with 225/45R15 Nitto NT01s and 15x7 ET+35 wrapped in 205/50R15 Toyo R888 in the rear.

Here's a quick picture from bookface... Planning on going with a 5 inch spring up front and getting a stiffer (but same length/7 inch) spring for the rear. Liking going 10k front, 12k rear.

Are you doing a drag race set-up?

Nope... more of an sleeper oriented autocross/road race setup/build. Running reverse staggered wheels and tires helps with rotation quite nicely.

Did your Fit come with leather seats or are they from a different car and you put them in?

I was just curious on why the spring lengths you were choosing. Plus running R-comps puts you in a tough class that you will be out gunned.

Staggered fitment wheels do not necessary help with rotation. Air pressure, toe adjustment, vehicle height, spring rate and sway all play roles in rotation.
