Base 2009 Fit - Keyless Entry?
oh dizamn! thats why i didnt go to the dealership, i knew it was gona cost an arm and a leg. my python system+installation only cost me 115. LOL
They originally quoted me a price of $385!! Plus I wanted the keys themselves to have the remote buttons rather than extra fobs.
2 keys (with buttons).
Did you guys see the other thread about keyless? There are people who are ordering the blank Fit Sport keys online for plus or minus $50 and then shopping around for a dealer to cut it and program the immobiliser chip. Some of them are getting the dealers to cut and program for $55 or less, which is about $105ish bucks. Making the remote buttons work is easy and involve a couple of steps you do yourself inside the car. There is a Youtube vid that shows you how to do it. You don't get the alarm system, but you do get a relatively inexpensive keyless entry system.
This is redundant!
Hey guys, check out the other thread re obtaining keyless entry for the basic model... Thanks to Dan at CFL Honda, you can buy from them a button fob for $22, or a Sport key for $34, with no shipping charges and only a $2 handling fee!
The fob can then be drilled with a hole so as to attach it to your key ring, or with the Sport key you can just cut off the bottom key part of it and only retain the buttons...
So voila; there you have your keyless entry for your basic Fit, for only $24 or $36!! (And instructions on how to very simply program these things to work with your Fit are also clearly explained in that other very excellent, very helpful thread.........)

Hey guys... look at the DATES on the posts you are responding to... these posts are old, and I believe pre-date the other thread.
At the time, they probably hadn't figured it out yet... anyways if they were/are getting keys they still need the dealership to cut the key/program the immobilizer, which varies in price greatly.

So if you read the previous posts on both this and the other thread, you'll see that a fob or a cut-off Sport cut key requires nothing further from a dealer to set it up, only a quick bit of re-programming easily done by a Fit owner...
