Nope, they won't lock. You can set it up so that it locks when you take it out of park, or only if you drive over 9 MPH. Plus, I believe that it says in the manual that the driver's door won't lock from the outside if there is a key in the ignition.

Yes. The doors won't auto-lock until you get going over 9 MPH.

Thanks to Whats A Fit for the "open on park" procedure he listed...
You helped solve one of the few minor annoyances I had with my Fit.

Hope that works.

This just worked for my 09 Fit Auto. I could not find this info in the Manual.

Thanks!

excellent thread. I've been borrowing my in-laws '09 Fit and this has been driving me bananas. "unlock the doors!" is all I kept hearing from the back seats whenever I turned the car off

CM5T's method rocks!

OMG THANK YOU! There are 2 things that where driving me nuts with the FIT. The locks (All Fixed) and actually having to turn on and off the lights.

Thumbs up

Thanks, I needed this badly. I transport people with brain injuries at times for work and they yank on the doors as soon as the car stops... saved me a ton of worry about my new fit.

This literally saved me from kicking a hole in the car. It's ridiculously frustrating to get a baby out of the car when you forget to unlock the door every time.

THANKS!

Great help! The wife has been complaining about this since we got the Fit. Now she won't have to manually unlock the door!
