No, I turn the car off, and when the engine stops spinning, it unlocks my door. I have the 5sp.

Thumbs up Thanks!

I've had my Honda Fit Sport for about a week and was disappointed when it appeared that the passenger doors wouldn't automatically unlock when the car was put into Park. I followed the instructions on this thread and now I'm in heaven.

Thanks to everyone who contributed. Honda owes you for improving this customer's satisfaction.

That worked PERFECTLY! Thanks so much!

I've been trying to figure that out, but couldn't because it's not listed in the owner's manual.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this thread

All doors unlock for me and my passengers when the car is put in park. I also did the setting where all the door lock when I shift out of park. Now it's PERFECT. I love this car more and more everyday... so convenient

myke

ps.
I have an '09 Fit Sport AT w/ Nav if that matters.

Lock doors when start move

Dear Friends

As I report before, it happen the same with me, cannot hear the 2 click, so cannot program the doors to lock and unlock. As I´m in Europe I really do not know if this are one of diferences of this model and the American and asia models. I have the manual 5 gear model:
Does this depends of the alarm that rae instaled ?
Does anyone here from Europe solve this ?

Regards

My guess is they are the same. I had to try numerous times before it worked. Hold it up fo rlonger than the 5 seconds. Eventually should hear it. Then quickly turn ignition off.

When I mentionned this to my dealer they said they knew how to do this so maybe they can help you

Good luck

Just tried it with the 3rd click and removal of the key. Thank you guys sooo much. This was the number 1 thing that annoyed the crap out of me. During the test drive i had 3 people with me, i found that out real quick that i was the only one getting unlocked.

mine is a 09 sport a/t non-navi

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Worked like a charm on the first try, I will now no longer have an annoyed girlfriend cursing as she tries to get out a locked door. She has more than enough to be annoyed about just living with me.

I tried this on my new 2009 Fit Sport. Waited for the second click and let go of the switch afterwords and turned off the ignition key. IT still does not unlock passenger side door upon engine shutoff. Doing something wrong? Or is it the car? Followed above instructions. Thanx for any help.

Make sure you wait for the 3rd click. I think people have been confused with the click stuff. If you count the first immediate click, then you must wait for the 3rd click.

What he said! You also have to make sure you turn the ignition off and remove the key immediately. Turning the key to "Off" doesn't cut it. You have to remove it.
