2009 Accord horn on GE Fit
#141
I have my 2 PIAA sports horns hooked up to the main horn output, left the alarm horn alone.

i looked around online and the shipping charges were as much as the horn. i CANNOT handle the crap stock horn any longer, a lady cut me off today, i honked at her (in lieu of ramming my FiT into her) and she...... laughed at me. like literally laughed at me. NO MORE!!
so i am going to call some area dealerships but wanted to see if anyone had found a site with reasonable shipping charges for the part.

ok so i bought the horn from the dealership for $16 (they had in stock and no shipping charge, yay). replaced it today and did the lower mesh grille while i was at it. WOW what an improvement, i cannot WAIT to honk at some rude drive who cuts me off YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
thanks to those who contributed, this was a really easy process

Did look in the area between (and below) the driver's side headlight and battery?

How are you guys mounting them. I had it on for a couple of years now and a couple weeks ago it stormed bad here and I ran into a huge puddle under a bridge and then my horn was weak. So I put my old one in and just ordered another for 13 bucks

Bend the bracket so it's pointing not level or above the horizon make it pointing down a few degrees so water can run out. Or drill a small drain hole at the lowest point of the horn snail so water can exit. Dry out the horn and it should still work fine.

wow, i havnt been on in along time but im very happy to see people doing this easy mod. since i first did this mod years ago there has been a few times the horn went a little weak but clears up right after. i did happen to mount it in or near the same place i removed the factory horn.

No drill or cut air horn install
After almost getting hit after "beeping" my horn, I decided I needed a louder horn. I bought a set of Wolo air horns for $23, delivered.
The install went easy. I bolted the compressor to the support behind the grill, using existing hole.
I mounted each horn to existing holes, in the metal, that sticks out under the a/c condenser, using 2, angle brackets.
I mounted the relay with the orig horns bolt. Had to enlarge the hole in the relay for the bolt.
I removed the plug from the orig. horn, and modified a forked terminal (cut 1 prong off) to allow it to plug into the horn plug. On the other end of this short wire, I crimped on a female, spade terminal. (I flattened the terminal so it would grip the thin prong terminal in the orig horn.
I t'ed into this wire and ran it to the relay.
Then ran a ground wire from the solenoid to the orig horn mounting bolt, and a inline, fused wire from the battery "+" terminal bolt.
Then ran the 2 wires from air horn compressor to the relay.
No holes had to be drilled, or wires cut. It can all be removed if desired and returned to stock.
Hope this helps anyone out, who is thinking of a loud horn. It is quite loud!

Just did this on my 2012 lx and apparently the alarm/lock horn is the same as the regular one. As in when I lock the door, it uses the accord horn. Guess they got rid of that extra horn behind the headlight.

Great discussion and thanks for tips. I installed the horn from a 2003 Acura TL on my 2013 Fit. I picked it up at the wrecking yard for a mere $6. Plug and play folks! I believe this to be the same horn as the 2008 accord, well it sounds identical to the YouTube clip anyway.
