im thinking cflhonda, but it all depends on the shipping cost. its not like a few bucks is a big deal since we are already making out like bandits
CFL's price is misleading because they have a $2 packing charge in addition to the above price.

"Handling Charge: At checkout, there will be a $2.00 Handling Charge added to every order to cover the cost incurred when packaging your order for shipment." From: CFLHonda

Most of them are showing about $9.50 for shipping (to me).

In general costs are any taxes (this varies depending upon what state you live in) + shipping charges (this varies depending upon what type of shipping you choose, and possibly where you live) + fees + price = total.

I wound up ordering from Bernardi because DCHAutomotiveparts seems to ship from California and Bernardi is in Ma -- I'm on the east coast and wanted it sooner, so I figured it was better to order locally. Since I am not in the same state as them I paid the above price + 9.50 (approx) for shipping UPS ground.

I didn't post total costs for each of them, because as stated above, those additional costs vary depending upon your location.

since im in arlington va, i did the same

SKUItemShippingPriceQuantityLine Total 72147-SWA-A01 Honda MODULE ASSY., KEYLESS Selected
Unshipped $22.79
2 $45.58
Gift Certificates None

SubTotal: $45.58 Tax: $0.00 Shipping: $10.30 Handling: $0.00 $55.88
so 2 fobs from bernardi, no cutting or mess, 55.88 shipped

vs

dealer $200-400 fkn BS

you mean MUST. Imagine if the only thing between you and keyless entry was 32 bucks, I got 2 so it was 55. just 1 is all you need, so just 32 bucks shipped is all that stands in your way to get keyless entry. then when it arrives, you follow the easy 2 min steps to program it, then you drill a hole in the corner. presto

if you dont want to drill a hole, then you might have to get the key which is 40 bucks, 50 shipped.

take your pick, as either 1 is not enough to keep you from keyless entry

FIT410S: Please make sure and leave a post after the FOB's arrive and you have programed them. So far I havn't read a review that totally conviences me that it will work and I'm sure there are a ton of other owners just waiting to hear. I was quated $31 for the FOB, but I am considering Bernardi. Thanks for the info.

Killer Goldfish: Uhm, it works. I just got one, did the programming, and it works. Several other people have posted that it works. I even added it to my .signature. What else do you need to know?

Because people like me will pay $200 to have a key cut and programmed (and I'm a cheap bastard). I'm so ashamed.

Maybe we can shame Honda into honesty on the base's keyless entry.

It will definitely, absolutely, no doubt work if you have a 2009 US base model Fit. It’s not even hard, and people with both manuals and automatics have done it. Trust me, it works. Just follow the directions.

Does anybody have a suggestion of what to package the keyfob in? I am not entirely comfortable with simply drilling a hole in it.. I'm not sure it's durable enough to take the abuse I might put it through simply being on my keyring.

O.K. This works perfectly. My wife and I were very skeptical but it works like a champ. Part (72147-SWA-A01) is the internal part of the Fit Sport. I got lucky and got a parts person that had a spare Civic key that was cut incorrectly, she said it matched the buttons perfectly, so when the part came in, she put it in that key and shaved off the key part for me and then only charged me $28.50 for the whole thing. I just happened to get lucky with this particular Honda parts sales person, most of them weren't cooperative, but I told this lady what I was doing and she thought it was cool and didn't know if it would work or not. It all works great, I had to go through the instructions a couple times before I got it to work, but it does, even the panic button (you have to hold it down for two seconds). But have NO DOUBT, this is the real deal and only cost me $28.50, so do some checking around, call different dealers, order online or whatever but for cheap keyless entry.............Here it is!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to really thank those people who contributed the wealth of information for this to happen. You have saved me well over $200. I'd buy you all a case of beer if I could. Thanks again.

That idea is exponentially more likely to crack and break the plastic. Just get a drill. Or knock on your neighbors door and borrow one. You're probably going to need to use a drill again for something else in your lifetime, might as well get one.

Canadian Base Fit - Manual Door Locks

I want to be crystal clear here. Do I have this right?... The Canadian base fit comes with manual door locks therefore the FOB/cut key will not work with this model. The USA base fit comes with powerlock but not keyless entry - therefore a FOB only needs to be programmed to gain keyless doorlocks instead of just power doorlocks. Is that right?

Second, how difficult would it be to add keyless door locks to a Canadian base model that only has manual locks. Is this something a DIY can do? Or is this best done by the dealer?

Thanks

No idea but it could be a bit of work if there are no power locks.
