received my bluetooth obd2 adpater from ebay to work with my Torque app for android

Cost $11 shipped, came in a week, and works great!!

Currently working on finding the PID for creating an AFR gauge in the app, I think I will have to buy the Pro version for $6 to get that.

Its amazing how awesome it works. Coolant sits 180-185 degrees, but more interesting our Fits are sitting at 110-140 degrees intake temps if you have my intake I recently made form ebay. 2.5 coupler, Maf tube, 2.5 filter clamped on chopped MAF tube.

Factory underhood air scoop dang near touches the filter, which by the way is bigger then the PMR intake filter, therefore less restriction!

Guys, you need this setup, the free torque app has all you need, it calculates instant fuel mileage. it reads higher then the factory gauge screen, but then the factory screen has a delay, so at constant speed cruisinig it reads very close after a few seconds

LOVING IT!!

anyone have a cheap bluetooth capable tablet they would like to sell? time for a new indash setup!!

Or Ill go with a carpc I will eventually build

Yeah...the reason no modern street cars have temp gauges is because they don't need them. They're engineered so well that the oil and coolant just sits right where it needs to sit. Intake temp just the same...as long as you don't move the throttle body then it doesn't matter. To me if you just have the stock engine and just use the car for daily driving, having temp gauges in the Fit is kinda pointless. You're not going to get any useful information. Maybe in cold weather you should wait for the "cold" placard to turn off from the dash, and of course pull over if the overheating light comes on, but other than that, you don't need to worry about engine temps.

I see air temps decline with increase of throttle

Our intake air temps are either sourced from the MAF sensor (it is 5 or 6 wires) or at the throttlebody

I use this as a tool to see what the car is going through. its very useful, and will even show fuel trim and timing advance. I basically am able to match the pedal position to that sweet spot for great fuel economy on the highway

I was able to reset the cars avg mpg upon entering interstate, and averaged 35mpg going 75mph with short bursts of 80mph when passing people

EDIT I tested this on a 15 mie stretch of interstate and it does have one rather large hill

not bad, before I was able to average 32mpg with similar testing. Granted there is a week between these tests, but while ambient air temp was similar, humidity and wind conditions were slightly different.

All in all, its useful. I hate the fits lack of gauges. I need at a minimum coolant temp and oil pressure. Both will eventually be added, but until then, this free app coupled with the cheap adapter make for a nice experience

Torque is actually one of the main reasons I'm getting an Asteroid Smart installed.

Whatever makes you happy. Just set the cruise control on the highway and you'll get the best mileage the car is capable of in the current conditions. Seems like way too much effort for very little benefit doing it your way. You're going to get cooler intake temps when hitting the throttle because the engine starts sucking air in faster, the faster air is moving the cooler it is. No need to monitor the intake temp for better fuel economy, just stay off the accelerator. Or even get a throttle controller.

cruise control is horrible and useless for mileage on anything but the flattest of roads

Great glad when I see people that like their Fit. I have done enough to my Fit in the past year I have no plans of getting rid of it.

I had this key made by a local locksmith, cost me $25 but it now allows me to take my key into the ocean when I surf so it really comes in handy

sup man, the wheels are 205-40-17 on 17x7 rota slips. a lot of work went into adjusting the D2 coils so i could have the max drop with NO rubbing whatsoever while running full fender liners and no fender mods. i have family that lives off of 360 so if you see me riding around gimme a shout. haven't seen very many modded fits around town. here's a pic of front clearance when i first installed everything. they have since settled a little bit but still have no issues with clearance.
