Big Day Tomorrow!

Well, today I installed an LED dome light, yep, all by myself lol. But that's not the biggie.

I dropped off my new Fit at the dealership tonight. Tomorrow she's getting Mugen front, back and sides, Mugen exhaust, alloy wheels, smoked LED tail lights, LED cargo light, LED plate light, and the full paint and underbody protection package.

I am so freaking excited I could wet myself lol. Wednesday morning can't get here fast enough!

Cancel that paint protection shit. I got sucked in. Then in Spring when had rail rust it was not covered. There is hardly anything is covered. Just clay bar like I did.

I did get undercoating which I think is good for northern climes.

Hey, I'm well aware that it's not the most effective treatment, but they were running a decent special on it this month. I figure if it gets me even a little protection then great. And if not, oh well, it's just money....

As for the cost of the stuff being installed and stuff I've added (for instance, I got some Weathertech mats last week).... I'll just say that right now, 25% of the total cost of the car is in aftermarket. I still have some things I'd like to do, eventually, so I expect that figure to be more like 30-35% when all is said and done.

I'm doing a lot, but I want it all to be pretty subtle and it's all being done for me - not to be all showy and flashy. I'm trying my best to not paint a gigantic bullseye on my car for the d-bags out there who can't leave other people's nice things alone.

And don't worry, I'm going to have a little photo session with my new baby when I get her back.

Stebel Horn Install

I installed the Stebel Nautilus horn today. Took About two hours, If I did it again it would take 45 minutes. Pretty easy and straight forward. I did not want to do the Accord horn swap. The air horn is so much better.
Got the horn from Amazon $29, connectors, harness for relay, relay, fuses, and wire, About $20 and I have a bunch of extra items left. I did not get the Plug-and play wiring harness since it has high gauge wire and would not be plug and play anyway.
The horn came with a relay, so I have a spare.
I followed some lengthy instructions I found here somewhere. I left the old horn in place but use the wire to trigger the new horn. Works great.

Installed my new JDP CF wing today in the snow. Couldn't be happier. Also installed the plate frame, Spoon reservoir covers, and Mugen plate bolts that I found in my stocking. Now I just need some new LEDs for the plate lights, and a set of OEM window visors to set both off.

I work in a body shop detailing cars and thought hey it would be a great idea to have one of the guys paint my mirror covers for me. Ask one of our body guys to take em off for me and he got the first one off fine. I had to leave to pick up a car for work come back and the other one was off and even came with a huge 2 inch scratch down my driver door from were his tool glanced off my mirror into my door so hes taking it apart and fixing it monday to get repainted but hey i got free painted mirror covers now lol. kind of off topic but how hard would it be to install a spoiler on my fit base model? do i gotta drill into the tailgate? id love one of those carbon spoilers ^^

cargo liner

Lined the back of the rear seats with black sheet vinyl. . .now, I just have to cut a piece of vinyl to line the cargo floor and the hatch area will be well protected.

I love my Fit!

Using a suction cup, I hang a convex plastic mirror ($7) on the back windshield to allow my wife to have wider field of vision by looking through the convex mirror when she is backing the FIT....should not use my wife as an excuse... the mirror is meant for me. I am used to have back-up sensors on my Accord and not used to backing the FIT yet without back-up sensors

Mirror or lense?

I've never had backup-sensors in any vehicle i've driven, so I wouldn't know how it is.

So... my sister woke me up to... use my Fit to jump start her van... again.

This is the 4th time I've had to jump start her van, 3rd with the Fit, 2nd after she took the van to the dealership and got the battery replaced!!!

I didn't find anything plugged in or left on... so unless she found one of the doors open or something and didn't mention it, something is seriously f'd up.

RIDICULOUS!!!

Four jump starts in a little over a months time.
