Swap the Fit, Fit > Civic

and Ti RTA would be OUTRAGEOUS

btw airbags aren't necessary....if Fit v. SUV goes down......Fit will lose anyway

well i think it might be a little easier with a GD3... i see why it such a PITA with a GE,

http://www.hondapartsnow.com/diagram...xle-467606.png

As you can see on this pic, part 2 (spindle) comes separately as the newer ones seem to be welded to rear axle...

I think that if the holes fit it would'nt be that hard, i know that it was done on the spoon fit, so it can be done!!! But i tought it would be easier tough... tought i only had to buy new drums

I really don't think "K-swap" is the answer for the Fit horsepower woes. Honestly, I would prefer to massage/tune 140-150 whp out of the L15a7. This would make for an extremely competent DD...and 140-150 should be obtainable as most Honda engines are capable of 100 hp/liter...the only obstacle is the SOHC. I really hope that a 1.5 L DOHC CR-Z comes out...HEAD SWAP.

Thanks for the info. I found a local used rear axle for the GD for $200...I might go pick it up and see if it will bolt up to the GE....

Wow, I didn't notice the hood at first, so that's good! Looks capable - no nonsense.

BnD you guys keep up the work and the pics! I wish I could do this to mine but it's my Daily and I use the seats two weeks out of every month. I've been adding weight... I had a 91 miata I was gonna do this to but saw how in depth it was getting and sold it and bought a motorcycle... I don't track it just have a little reckless fun. But if I still have this car in five years its gettin stripped naked like "bensenvill" BTW that stripped fit is sick! Again keep it up guys!

If you get that GD rear and it fits, Please let us know! That would be my "easy" answer to a rear disc set up... Oh and I've read the back and forth about the disc vs drum... lol I just want the look. If that rear fits, I'm going to the junkyards here in Houston and I'm going to find one!!!

Not sure what he is wanting to know about. To me it looks like a normal rear end with a Cusco bar and a rear sussy setup with an external oil tank. Something like Moton, Quantum, Crux, Toda or other makes that have an external reservoir.

The easy answer would be to call wilwood and ask them to help you out. Their big brake kits are half off till January.

I haven't given up on the rear trailing arm. I was thinking about taking the RTA off this winter and take it to the guy who seam welded my civic. He is a talented welder, and the only guy in town who can weld aluminum....I was thinking of getting him to fab up an aluminum RTA with the Insight spindles welded on. If aluminum wasn't strong enough, I was thinking of buying raw titanium and getting him to do the same.

Now that we have a reflash solution for the GE, the envelope can be pushed further...

The Wilwoods are just fronts right? I read somewhere like back when I first joined the Forum that Willwood was prototyping a 4 wheel disc kit but I can't find anything. I think the rear drums look sad enough w/o big discs up front... If only I could get a 4 wheel big disc kit. Thanks for the discount info. I'm still gonna check it cause I'm sure they'd look great! The local welder idea might work for modding a RTA out of a wrecked GE to convert to disc... Wouldn't hurt to ask, and nothing like helping a small business out.

Just looked @ the Wilwood site... Damn... http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Bra...=Fit&year=2010 For that price I'm gonna have to call... The rear drums will just have to look gimpy...for now... Thanks again for the heads up on the pricing! Do I need to ask for someone specific when I call or just who ever answers would be fine? The 140-6163-R are the ones I'm gonna call about, but any of them would do!
