Biggest Loser...Fit edition.
insight rotors?
Love the weight control progress so far! Are you sure those insight rotors are going to bolt up? I remember looking into this a while back and becoming discouraged when I learned that the fits drums are like 1/2 larger diameter. Regardless, I can't wait to see how much the stock drums weigh in comparison.
New updates. I took some stuff up to the UPS store and the girl behind the counter was so sweet...she let me throw all this crap up on her nice clean scale. (I will update post #1 with pictures of each part on the scale.
Insight rear drum - 4.75 lbs
Base steel wheel + Dunlop - 33.20 lbs
Jack and wrench - 4.55 lbs
Factory springs- 16.60 lbs

I read that the insight drums didn't fit as well...but no one ever really said why. So I'm going for it. Besides, Spoon was able to make them Fit so it's obviously possible.
Hells yeah! If you can get it to work, this is my next mod. Can't wait to see the progress.
Here are some details about the drums...
from this pg about the insight (http://www.insightcentral.net/encyclopedia/enbrakes.html

I'm hoping I can shave off another 80-100 lbs. Gotta pay to play though.
Looking at:
Racing bucket (Sparco EVO2 CF)...9-12 lbs
Racing seat rails.......................10-15 lbs
_____________________________________
I'm hoping this will shave 20 lbs total (both driver and nav combined)
J's Racing Ti exhaust system vs. custom aluminum set-up -30-40 lbs saved
Odyssey light weight battery - 10 lbs saved
Wilwood brake set up - ??? (hoping for 10 lbs unsprung weight reduction)
Insight drums - ??? (hoping for 5-10 lbs unsprung weight reduction)
Carbon fiber hood - ??? (hoping for 8-10 lb weight reduction)
This will JUST get me to 100 lbs...maybe more/maybe less. Altogether, this will be about 220 lbs weight reduction.
I will probably get addicted to the quickness and want to remove the stereo and speakers...LOL.

not a thread jack
i hate threads like this, freakin makes me wanna lose weight too, thanks alot people, if i would have read this before last weekend i would'a taken the rear seats and spare tire out when we SCCA'd the fit at a real nice track https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/utah...tml#post886220
well maybe next time, but really it's not about power but more about how you drive, as i was in my (fast) CRX and a professional driver was instructing(driving) my friend in my fit and i will say i had somewhat of a time shaking his ass in the corners because years of tracking he knows the correct path and brake/accel points, and even on the straights i only gained a small margine, just to see most of it swallowed up in the next turn, this was my first time tracking the CRX and i tracked my 2007 fit once last year so i have alot to learn.
first i need a job to pay for fun, but removing stock stuff is free i suppose
BACK ON TOPIC - i love this thread, love love love, keep up the info
i will check back often

I've only been able to make one event this year...I had a blast but realized I have a lot to learn. I posted these a long time ago:
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Def gonna remove rear wiper...already removed small "retard" wiper in front. Gonna keep the AC and stereo for now. I'll eventually swap the steering wheel out so that'll take care of drivers airbag.
Took mine out within the first month and have since put the single seat back in. Too many times I've needed to transport +2 people. Weird. Once the fit gets track ready though that single seat is coming out.
