Very disappointed in 2015 mpg ratings.

I am seeing 42-46 mpg highway so far (less than 1,000 total miles so far.) About 33 in city dominant and congested rush (stop-go) hour driving. This is on the gauge and backed up with my fuel calculations. Yes, same station, same pump for the first couple of times. I'm not super-analytical about this, it's just transportation to me.
To me, the '15 Fit is a superb combination of performance, gas efficiency, load flexibility, high tech, looks and fun.I look forward to when the other folks on the forum finally get their cars and get to have some fun and give their experiences to the group.

Seriously,
You have been a great test driver for everyone here!

But do you really trust my review? Apparently I have an "infamous" rep power rating (whatever that is...)
you have been great with all our questions Brian, but it appears your 15 minutes of fame is running out!
now you can just enjoy and watch the rest of us experience your rush! Thanks again for all the posts!
Finally drove the new Fit today. Runs and drives nice, mpg average in the dash display was showing 45mpg. It was the EX-L with Nav. That Nav screen is a PITA, having a touch screen you have to touch two or three times for any response sucks. They also has an EX and the touch screen radio was much more friendly but still needs a volume knob. The EX-L has some nice leather in it but I still prefer cloth.
Why can't they make arm rests in most cars higher? The center arm rest is less then useless. And the door arm rest isn't much better because the steering wheel doesn't tilt down far enough. I have modified all my cars so the wheel tilts down further. I suppose I could modify the Fit also. The center arm rest could be made higher to.
Other then all that I like the car, have to wait to see what the yellow is like.
Why no power seat?

Question about what is better for my MPG?
When getting up to speed on the highway, should I try to get up to speed quicker and then let it settle in? Or gradually (if not impeding traffic) get up to speed?
I'm still learning what the car likes as far as efficiency and keeping those thingies by the speedometer in the green zone (which can't be done on hills or when getting up to speed, I guess).
mind you...I'm not a car person. I'm mostly just happy to have a new shiny car that holds my bike and the AC works and I don't waste gas.

*This is not a dig against the Fit (GK), just seems like this dude would prefer one.
who the heck cares about power seats in budget cars?

whats next, a heated steering wheel and heated seats?
No manufacturer should be playing with luxury options in the cheap cars. Its what keeps them lightweight and peppy, while still being safe enough and pass the BS emissions that only 0.0003% of the world cares about

PS: Heated seats are already included in the EX-L package. lol

Heated seats in my economy car are rad.
Should be optional extra on ALL cars.
