I'll have to see if we have someone around here who does that. I've done small areas, but I don't know if I'd want to do the hood myself.

As for your wife's comment, if she can say the same thing in five years, the plastic will have done it's job.

Comment: For the install, initially thought its an easy thing to do. Gotta say, it would take me time to master the technique. Three hours with the Fit's small bonnet seems a stretch. However, watching, made me understand that this procedure takes patience, steady hands and a very sharp eye. Because of the 3M's material thickness, plus the curves, its definitely a significant challenge compared to installing TINT. Nevertheless, am sure you or some other FF may well figure it out.

As for the wife's statements, wont' have to wait for 5 yrs. It'll stop shortly. Bringing her to the Mall later today!!!!- rttby

Auto Dimming Mirror

Is anyone running one of these? I would like one with compass.

If anyone has one please point me in the direction where to buy it.

Suggestion:
Check this one out from Ebay. Don't have one but our niece ordered one for her '08 GD. Has'nt arrived yet.

Once you decide and install, post your pics and impressions. - rttby

I have a black velour dashmat on order, stainless steel door step sill protectors, 5 Star Shine paint protector. The step sill protectors are going to take a while for shipping, and it's recommended to apply the paint protector after accessory installation, that's going to be a long wait after 5 Star arrives. I'm looking forward to cutting down on dash reflection glare.

I picked up a set of like-new Hankook i-Pike snow tires on steel wheels for $150 last week on Craigslist. My Fit.

Then on Sunday I picked up a set of Michelin x-ice snow tires on steel wheel, like-new condition, for $160 on Craigslist. Wife's Fit.

Tires (like-new) on steelies for those prices??? Gotta say you scored pretty big. Twice at that!!!!
I figure that being winter on the mainland, those would be going for a premium. What you got is a premium deal!!!

Oh, those DO look nice. Nicer than the OEM ones.

Aluminum Dead Pedal

A few days ago, installed aluminum dead pedal. Previously installed non-skid on brake pedal.

Debating on whether to install the brake and gas pedal covers since I mainly wanted the dead pedal and I like the accelerator smooth for easy modulation.

I've never heard of a wheel spacer before, does that just shim the wheels out from the car?

Has anyone seen these body side mouldings? I suspect they're generic, but where it is on the door panel, it probably does it's job, unlike the oem ones.

How do you like the feel of it? I've been looking for some cheap pedals, I like the Mugen style ones, but I feel like the metal sponge will get caked with mud. I'm a clean freak so that aint gonna happen. I've seen some Ichibahn ones on ebay that aren't too bad. But I might get the set you got since I wanted the dead plate to match.

@jhn Those spacers make the car look so much better. I plan on getting a much smaller 10mm-15mm sized ones. Thanks for posting those pics.

Husky Installed

The ordered Husky's finally arrived. Carpet was getting its share of sand and debris with the OEM rubber mats so am liking the higher edges. Price was $118.96 shipped (mainland). Its moulded exactly. Another like - the rear mat is one long piece that covers the center.

Knock-off Honda Tire valves. Pardon the sand covered wheel.

Dead pedal has rubber circles protruding and it feels fine and somewhat grippy which is why I was not keen on having GRIP on the accelerator. I prefer the accelerator to slide smoothly beneath my foot.

I like the Husky rear mat. My son got one for his Fit. He has the WeatherTech mats in the front - similar to the Husky, but $20 less.

I'm definitely getting that foot rest. Thanks for posting.

EDIT: Oooh! I see it comes as a $32 set with three pedal covers. All I want is the foot rest.

Same here, could not find the aluminum foot rest independent of the other pedals.

I emailed them and asked if I can buy just the footrest. Maybe I'll make my own. I could could cut a piece out of an old floor mat.

How does that footrest attach? The pictures on ebay look like it has holes for screws.

GOOD NEWS: That footrest is available separately for $16.00, with free shipping. Contact the seller and have him send you an invoice so you can pay with PayPal. You cannot send an email address through ebay - not allowed.
