As mentioned, I ended up buying direct, which saved me a bit. I bought the set of lights and the OEM Jazz badge, and they were $820.00 delivered to my door (including shipping). Spendy, like I said, but you only live once, right?

The lights are *not* a plug and play install. If you check out Rottboy's thread on the upper light install, you'll see you have to tap the license plate light circuit to drive the LEDs - not a huge deal, though.

The main brake lights required a bit of hacking (literally and figuratively) as the light bulb sockets are different from USDM to JDM.
Very nice, and thanks for all those labeled pictures.

Fbones, would you please do a write up on this?

As far as I know, that's the only difference...

Curious to see how this came out. Did you also wrap the rear roof spoiler? I have had this done on previous cars and am considering doing the entire roof with the spoiler.

Any pics?!

Just got my car last week; so no mods yet. I'm currently looking for a reliable window tint installer in my area. I think tint really makes a white car come alive. I have ordered a blue LED push button momentary switch. Hopefully, the blue LED will match the other lighted instrumentation. The switch will be installed in one of the blank spots on the lower left side of the dash to operate a remote garage door opener hidden under the dash. The remote is 12V; so I will hard wire it to switched power. It will not operate if the ignition is off; so anyone breaking into my car at night can't use the remote to enter my house through the garage.

I want to do something fairly quickly about protective measures for my car. I will need floor mats and cargo mats. I just haven't done enough research to decide what to buy yet.

I also want to get protective covering for the bottom of the door jambs and the painted surface below the rear hatch. Once again, I'm not sure which direction to go in this regard.

I have two switches in those blanks. I tried two toggle switches, but they didn't fit, and I didn't want to modify the car. Below you can see what I did.

As for the garage door opener, I wanted to do the same thing, but I couldn't. I tried soldering wires onto the contacts in the remote - no good. It was too intermittent. I asked for suggestions here and on another forum. I got a response from a guy in Kansas who solders for a living. I sent it to him, and he did the soldering and returned it. He did a very nice job, but it was still intermittent. At $60 a piece, I'm not going to take a chance on any more remotes. I think a lot depends on the remote itself and how easy it is to make the connections.

After making the connections, I used liquid tape to seal everything. Then I drilled a hole in the black plate and attached the switch.

I got the switches from Advance Auto Parts. I have the pushbutton switch wired and attached to the third blank, but I don't yet have a use for it.

I got the WeatherTech mats for the front. They have high sides, so dirt doesn't get to the carpets. in the rear, I have the Honda cargo Tray - also with high sides.

Take a look at the Visual Garage shark fin antenna. My son and I each got one for our Fits.

Also, Amazon has an assortment of 3M plastic film. I put some on the rear bumper and the door sills. It's very easy to apply. My son has some bubbles in the piece on his bumper because he took it to a car wash before it was completely set. It's still better than getting the bumper scratched, though.

I haven't attempted to make any soldering connections yet. I am waiting until I have all the parts in hand. I ordered my switch from eBay; because I couldn't find what I wanted locally.

Thanks for your comments on the other items. I was considering the 3M Plastic Film for the door sills and the bumper; but I wasn't sure it was sturdy enough. Based upon your comments, that is probably the way I will go. The website for the Sharkfin Antenna is under development; so I couldn't get much info there. I do like the way it looks, though. Did you notice any difference in radio reception?

A couple of other questions about the antenna. What was the cost; and is the installation difficult?

Window Tinting

Welp, another day another dollar...actually $285. I took the Fit in for tint today. After a lot of research, I took it a local place that everyone recommended. I am totally pleased with their work; and the installation is flawless. I'm not too pleased with the final results, though. It was my intention to get 32% on the front windows and 20% on everything behind the driver's seat. I found out that you can't do that in Georgia unless the vehicle is a Pickup or SUV. The Fit is classified as a car; so to remain legal it must be above 32% all around. I went with legal tint. In my mind, it is too light. I suppose I can learn to live with it. It was too late for pictures when I got home...they will follow later.

What is the reasoning for limiting 20% to trucks and SUVs? Seems kind of odd.

I'm not sure of the rationale behind the tint laws in Georgia. Simply put, if it is classified as a car, the percentage of light passing through the tint must be higher than 32% on all windows. If it is a pickup or SUV the front side windows must be greater than 32%. The rear side windows and the back window may be any darkness. A six inch wide strip of 32% or greater is allowed at the top of the windshield for all vehicles. No other tint of any percentage is allowed on windshields.

Great to see Katzkin is doing GK's now but they are too expensive for me. Has anyone heard from Classio as to when they might be releasing GK seat covers?

I just had my car tinted yesterday as well, and North Carolina has the same law. Since the Fit is classified as a car, it must have the same tint % all round (35%+), but an SUV/Truck must have 35%+ on the front two, and then anything on the rear windows, they can even be spray painted black.

I can understand laws that prevent the driver from not being seen. When I'm driving in a congested area, I like to be able to see the other driver. Does he see me? Is he looking my way or straight ahead? Is there even a driver in the car?

I agree 100% with the laws of tinted windows for safety for the driver as well as anyone else, especially an officer approaching the vehicle. I just find it odd that the rear windows must be the same tint on "cars" but for SUV's or trucks, it can be whatever you want.

Overall I'm happy with my 35% tint, it appears darker due to the black interior of our cars, and when I go through inspection I will pass and not have to deal with either getting the tints re-dont each year, or having to "know a guy" that will pass me.

When I lived in NJ, no tint at all was allowed on the front two windows, so if you had tinted windows, you were a target for a cop to pull you over and give you a $150 ticket.
