MODS/ACCESSORIES for the GK
so far my car drives perfectly straight..
i'm not planning to get camber bolts. i'm not too worry about negative camber.
toe is the main killer on tire so just make sure you have toe set to 0 after spring has settle for couple days.
ecityfit: Awesome lighting project! I would not personally try this kind of project (I inherited the non-mechanical gene from my dad) but if you can post the details, I'd ask my mechanic to do this. The lack of lighting in the cargo area is problematic. Thanks!
Lack of lighting: Scroll back to post #577 and view NORPWR'S exceptional lighting mod. I just did it last night and works perfect. Am exceedingly pleased as it looks OEM. - rttby

I'm wondering if I can maybe find someone handy enough to be able to combine both of these mods so that I can not only have lights in the hatch itself, but a light on either side inside the cargo area that can all be controlled manually. I'm a little bit lighting-obsessed at the moment.

Also, not a complaint and I may have missed it if you posted your reasoning somewhere else, but I'm wondering if there's any specific reason you've started editing your replies into people's posts instead of just quoting and replying below them. I'm concerned that if people are looking for replies that are posted specifically by you, it gets a little muddy. Normally, you can search by poster name, but since you're using your mod capabilities and editing other people's posts to include your replies, your posts don't show up as your own posts. I know I've searched for things you've written on more than one occasion, so I'm worried that's going to make it more difficult to find you! Again, not a complaint, just a selfish question.

REPLY: REgarding the extra boot light mod initiated by NORIPWR, started last night and completed this morning before my shift. Used the OEM trunk light housing ($11.79). Took me about two hours to complete. Mind you, already have a lot of tools and sundries to ease the install of this mod.
An on-off switch in easily done by looking at other vehicles with the exact one that will suit you better. The wife's Lexus RX boot light has that feature which we never use. We just leave it on so that when the boot is open it automatically lights up. Wiring will be a bit different. You may want to tap a live wire so that the on-off switch works whether the boot is open or not.
The wires are all loomed wrap to provide both an OEM look as well as prevent chaffing of the wires. Here are some pics:
Dremeled the left side rear wheel well trim to create housing for the OEM boot light fixture:

Tapped the power from the Right side OEM boot light and loomed wrapped the wire:

Bare wire for left side waiting for the OEM connector:

Was able to fish the wire and loom wrap using one hole to enter and another for exit. Me thinks it turned out pretty OEM looking!!!!

As for attaching replies to various posts, its done to keep the threads uncluterred and allows readers a form of immediate continuity.

Am glad you follow my comments. Don't worry about looking for my specific posts - they're all over the GK threads!!!!!

That aside, if you or any other FF have a question, pls. don't hesistate and send a PM. May not always have the answer but will gladly point you in the right direction.
- RttBYUPDATE 10/30: Finished hooking up the OEM connectors and tested, then tidied everything up.
Wired and tested.

Tidied up the harness.

While still in the mood, decided to layout and anchor the antenna and wire for the Sat. radio.

a little nothing mod...
So it looks like the AUDM Jazz might get a stainless exhaust, not sure if that is just the done thing now or what but the little bit of sliver peaking out from under the bumper bothered me so i blacked it out with some Heat proof paint.

Hey kenji, is that an exhaust tip you added or is that an HKS exhaust? It looks REAlLY good! I want one!.
Rottboy, if I had my own personal garage I'd take out everything like yours and mod to my heart's content. Would be awesome to not have to do it out in the streets or driveway before night fall.
As for my mods, currently working on a second retro. I installed a DRL relay last week for the xb led strips. Otherwise not much else. Need to save money for new 17 inch shoes!
Reply: Kenji bought from Ebay, and because it looked so good, I did the same thing. Its about $20 (less) shipped. See how sharing mods influences everybody else!!!
If your ever on the island visiting with your Fit, your more than welcome to use all my tools!!!!
Don't forget to post the work on the DRL relay and the led strips!!!
As for quantity of mods done, some have less, others have more - but sharing and posting gives everyone potential ideas for the future!!!!

Thanks to the informative thread/post/pics, followed your lead for the boot light mod.

red emblem installed

Comment: Awesome look with those JDM emblems!!!!!
That's the way it should be. Definitely has that OEM look. How did you do the install for the front and rear??? Great share. I can see a ton of FF's gonna follow this lead.

The car is looking very sharp!!! Keeping posting - rttby

One of the mods I am going to do is replace the dome bulbs with LEDs:
LED Dome Light Honda | eBay
I've done this on my 2012 Civic Hybrid and it's sick. Some even used red or blue LEDs. I am going to see if I can find soft white. Big reason I like the LEDs is that it runs cooler, uses less power and brighter than stock. Also, there was one occasion I forgot to turn it off and ran all night. Didn't even kill the battery!

Reinstall starts
After more than 3 weeks down, its time to put the interior back. Got the shifter boot adaptor in. This was facilitated as I had the console out. This is not a simple task. Gotta exercise some care to avoid any plastic surfaces getting scratched.
Shifter boot adaptor in place.

Tried some time lapse photos from Waiz's photo tips:
OEM Ambient lights installed

Amp and processor in action

Rear upper LED's again!!!!

Will install the remaining interior, hopefully by tomrw. Have the sound system professionally EQ'd. Then finally it'll be time to drive once more!!!

I don't think there are blue emblem
Are these the JTech bulbs in the license plate lights? The purplish light should look good on a PBP.

REply: Those license plate lights are 10SMD T10 bulbs from Ebay (China). They're about $4 for 10pcs. Gotta say that the purple is more a result of time lapse photo. Took another look today and its really a bright white. Happy shopping!!!! - rttby
