I think it looks pretty good. I'm torn between trying an $80 polycarbonite universal splitter from eBay or just going the Home Depot cheapo lip.

I thought that there was some kind of lip already underneath the car? It is not very tall, which is good for me, as the snow is coming and I need all the clearance I can get. I'm wondering if the Fit is too low for the snow?

HDMI Mirroring While Driving: Step my Step Procedure

Not a mod, but a worthy hack worth noting to the forum community.

***The SNAPSHOT step does NOT work, so skip it. Supposedly it will save the setting but it does not work, least for the 6MT Still once you memorize the screens it takes me about 20 seconds to flip the error menu off and I'm off and running!

****DISABLING THE DD VSP ERROR MENU I'VE HEARD MAY CAUSE SOME ISSUES WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROLS. RE-ENABLING THE ERROR WILL FIX ANY POTENTIAL BUGS. NONE OF THE USDM FITS HAVE AUTO CLIMATE CONTROL FOR 2015. I DON'T THINK ITS THAT TERRIBLE TO CAUSE A MAJOR MALFUNCTION THOUGH.

Yeah, there is one I took it off though.

I guess too low for the snow is subjective: it depends on the amount of snow and how well the roads are maintained.

Snow is not an issue for me.

I didn't see the splitters out there but I don't think I could A/X in my current class with one. This one is a kit from All-Fit.

Also, how much was your tint job and what kind did you use?

Love the white gen 3!

I've been trying to decide if I want to go this route..glad you posted up a picture. I'm still on the fence. I wish something aftermarket would come out that would fit the US front end . I keep drooling looking all the lips overseas.

I like it for the flexibility and it's cheap. It's pretty low and it scrapes on some entrances.

Here's more pics: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...ml#post1328994

The "gotchas":

Smaller front brace will need to be mounted facing forwards, not 180 facing backwards as pictured. It will just rotate if installed as above.

You cannot over tighten forward bolt as the "nut" is the plastic housing of the headlights.

The paint there will get scratched.

Hood opens up a little farther back.

When you open or close the hood, you can see the front bodywork and headlight housing flex (only a bit) just under the front brace.

Attach the strut to the front brace first b/c if you have to compress it, it's easier to compress it forwards, rather than pushing the hood away from the hood prop if you did the longer brace first.

Don't lose that pin!

Got a stainless steel glove box handle stick on trim.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281643303768?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Problem is, that it's 2 mm too tall. So you can install it, and it will cut into your fingers, or install it higher, and you can't open your glove box.

Return requested.

I would give the quality a 7.5/8 out of 10, but is still definately worth it from a safety point of view. The increase in lighted area is substantial and all those LEDs keep the tailgaters at bay.

Also: do NOT trust the wiring diagram, I had to re-pin both of the harness extensions that came with mine to get them to function as described; not difficult, just frustrating, so test your leads early in the installation. You will tap the black, white, and green/white leads running to the stock taillights. If you only have LEDs under braking, try swapping the red and white leads to the pillars. That was the problem with mine.

Supplies Needed:
10mm socket
wire strippers
heat shrink
basic soldiering kit
friend to turn lights on/off and hit the brake pedal
An hour to figure out the first one, 20 minutes to install the 2nd.

You won't be disappointed with the results when you see these things in action.

I want to get these for my sister's new fit. They look good. Any issues other than the wiring which is an easy fix? Any leaking/fogging...etc. Overall do they look like OEM when they are lit up? Any LEDS burn out...etc.

Thanks,
-Nigel

Is that led light bar behind the lower grille or in front? I like the idea of having one but would rather it not be sticking out to be easily damaged or stolen.

I too am interested in more pictures of the light bar. I was even thinking of installing it with powerful magnets on the roof in front of the sunroof. My concern with mounting it on the grill is air flow restriction for the summer months, it could compromise cooling efficiency.

Where did you get it?
What Model?
How did you wire it? My thought was to wire with the fog light relay.
How does it look at night? Likely a 60 degree spot pattern I'd imagine.

Hi, yes it is behing my grille! The led bar is bolted to my bumper and wired directly to the battery and a switch in the interior. I got if off ebay, it's a cree 24" 240W, I was impressed the first time that I tried it at night!!

And what do the local LEOs have to say about that light bar? I'm afraid that it would cause all sorts of consternation here in Tennessee.

My AEM Intake arrived yesterday and this morning it went into the Fit. Part# AEM 21-748C $249.99 on Amazon Delivery time 7 days

The AEM installation was not without it's issues:
1) The instructions call for an 8mm socket to remove the hose clamp on the transition coupler. It isn't. It is (probably) 3mm which I didn't have and I doubt you do either. Be careful taking a screwdriver to it, the phillips head is soft and easily stripped.
2) While the instructions are (for the most part) very detailed, there is a step and diagram missing before "carefully remove stock airbox" that should say "Locate these two bolts under and behind the stock airbox and remove them " otherwise that sucker isn't going anywhere!
3) Finally, there was alot of mold flash left behind in the MAFS opening that had to be removed with a fine metal file before the Mass Air Flow Sensor could be fitted into it. Also, the gunmetal grey finish had clumped around the edges where the sensor is meant to sit flush which also had to be filed/shaved away to ensure a good seal.

Having now installed the K&N on my GE8 and an AEM on my GK5 I have to say that K&N got it right and AEM got it close. The sound is certainly an improvement over stock, I will report back with driving impressions and fuel efficiency changes in a few tankfulls.

If anyone is curious, the Tanabe strut tower brace does not interfere with the installation at all. The heat sheald can be maneuvered into position without scratching either piece.
how does a tube and a filter mashed right in the engine bay, where it gets really hot, count as a cold air intake?
