What did you do to your GK Fit today?
Diy
Took my Fit shopping today for a reasonably-priced blem (paint chip) repair:
body shop : $275 (hood repaint job), as anticipated; thanks but no thanks
Visit Obi Wan John, owner at Atlanta Auto Pro (where I go) : either buy a paint pen and fix it, or speak to a parking lot damage touch-up person at a dealership
Dealership : come Wednesday to speak with the touch-up guru about a paint chip disappearing act, probably around $100.
We'll talk Wednesday with the guru, and if he/she seems to have more powerful magic than I can get out of a paint pen and the price is OK, that might fly.
Otherwise, I'll buy the paint pen from parts, and wait for a dry, 60+ deg day to extract BMP (best magic possible) out of my paint pen.

1. clean the chip area thoroughly.
2. raise the hood until the chips are parallel to the ground (for best paint spread).
3. apply multiple layers, allowing each layer to dry (about an hour each), carefully avoiding excessive paint.
4. Check back with parts department regarding use of clear coat as directed on label paint pen label.
5. wax and buff after at least 48 hours.

Sport Mode!!
After reading another bit of the genial 'jousting match' in the Manual vs. CVT forum, I decided to try out my Sport Mode today. Found some relatively open stretches of pavement and yee-hee, a little fun was had!
Had not messed with it since August delivery, because CVT is zippy, and test driving Sport Mode around a parking lot in June had not left much of an impression. I should add that I retired as of Jan 1, and seeking relatively clear stretches of pavement was previously not an option, as my in-town driving was strictly rush hour, and week-end driving was largely road-tripping with my better half.

OK, I can't find the Forum that can take the credit, but shamed out of commercial car-wash use, Loki-chan and I went shopping today for hands-only car wash stuff. No brushes, microfiber only for soaping up and toweling down, Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax (OK, still a little lazy), and even a new hose to avoid beating up our finish with the old, petrified hose. Will tape the metal hose fitting in case of snake-action, and use the two new buckets exclusively (#1 for clean soapy water & #2 for dirty rinse water) for Fitster C.'s 2-bucket, hands-only car wash. 60 degrees in Atlanta tomorrow and Sunday, so wash tomorrow afternoon, and touch-up paint chips Sunday afternoon!

Saturday's Wash; just to prove I did it

Got my Blox in!
Its really crazy on how much better it makes the car feel.
I will need to get a Shift Boot Adapter but right now its not to bad using the stock one.
Wanna try and grab some Weathertech mats and maybe a bra for the car.
Anyone actually used those magnetic Hood bra's on ebay?

I cleaned the glass on my car today. I used Sparkle on the all the glass to clean it then used Stoner's Invisible Glass + Rain Repellent on the windshield. Is there a good product for the side and rear windows to promote rain beading off the glass? I used to use the rain repellent products, but I don't like the fine beads that can collect. They seem to hard for wind to quickly remove the water.
Gave Loki-chan a smile for the great finish that remains after last week's wash & wax job. But I am amazed at the amount of particulate, air-born junk that has collected all over it, and makes me consider the wisdom of buying a leaf blower just to get it off!
Looking forward to the same pic after the tint install; looking great!
Got 15% Ceramic Tint with front strip.

It should only void the warranty for the suspension but i could be wrong. Its not hard to do either but i work on cars for a living so this was easy for me. Also no need for a spring compressor for the fronts not that much spring tension. It took all of 40 minutes to do.
