Anyone else get a loose engine splash shield under their car?

Thanks. Is this them? They look pretty weak, even just against gravity for a thin piece of plastic. No wonder they pull out.
I'll be removing and re-attaching the shield myself and use the new fasteners as needed. If the shields pops loose afterwards, I'll probably go with the zip tie solution.

Everyone involved should file a complaint with NHTSB if in USA and demand that a recall be issued to force replacement of this part.
Perhaps Honda could put in a permanent shield with an access panel to the oil drain or use a different method of protecting the wiring.
I'd never trust any place other than a dealer to change the oil on this vehicle. Shame.

Could someone post the exact dimensions of the original plastic clips? I think they are easy enough to find on ebay and cheap if you get the ones from China, but I believe different Hondas and different years use different sizes/lengths of clips. If I know the exact relevant dimensions then I can look at the clips that have dimensions listed on ebay and pick the right ones. I know I could just look at my original clips that are currently on the car but my Fit is new and I haven't done an oil change yet. Just in case it breaks the very first time, I would like to have extras on hand.

I've been doing my own oil changes, so I bought a bunch of those crappy clips from a local dealer.
The clips are a cheap/cheesy/stupid design flaw. BUT - they are also very inexpensive:
Part Number: 91514-TG1-T01 $0.50 a piece.

Found them here for $0.37.
91514-TG1-T01 - Genuine Honda Clip, Cover (Lower)
I haven't bought any of these. I did my first oil change last week and reused the originals. I'll keep an eye on the shield to see if it stays put. Probably order a dozen of these to have on hand.

Yep, shipping charges are ridiculous for such a small part.
I ordered mine from the local Honda dealer for .60 each and picked them up the next day - they don't keep these in stock. No shipping charge.

I just searched eBay, didn't save the link.. there were numerous vendors selling them, there are 2 diameters and 3 lengths used on the GD near as I can tell.. I don't even try to save them, I just break them and install new ones.. They are available on Aliexpress too, fwiw..

Where to get the splash shield? P/N 74110-T5R-A10 , but shipping for all the places I've found is $75 to $90.
Mine came loose and drug the highway once I got up to speed yesterday. I was very angry with the dealer b/c they refused to cover it as warranty, but I read this thread and saw someone say "pot hole" and I remembered one wheel dropping in a hole my dog dug in the yard the other day. When I picked up the car, I apologized to the service salesguy, but still, my angst is with Honda for making such a flimsy part. It's tucked in for now, who knows when it'll come loose again.

If I'm not mistaken, that part number is for the whole lower engine cover assembly. You just need the splash shield right? That part number is 74111-T5A-900 They run around $40 plus $10-15 for shipping.

Awesome! Thanks so much!

Hmmm... ordered yesterday from Village Honda, and they questioned 74111-T5A-900 fitting my 2015 fit. It shows for 2016 fit, but I can't figure why it would be different. Anyone know for sure? Trying like crazy to NOT pay for shipping on the whole 74110-T5R-A10.

It looks like the 2015 Fit requires the whole assembly to be ordered with no option to buy just the splash shield. The 2016 has the option (74111-T5A-900). I would think the 2015/2016 shield are one and the same but... maybe not.

Stupid question but...
Since the car has low clearance, how are you guys getting access to the splash guard? I have some heavy duty zip ties I feel I can likely solve my problem with but I can't exactly wiggle under the car and I sadly don't just have a hydraulic lift in my garage. Are you all using the jack included for changing the tire, or do you have your own more heavy duty jack?
