Max of one to two times per month. Both are bucket washes, one includes spray wax... so it gets 12-13 waxes per year. We are under a water ban in Georgia due to the extreme drought, so I am no longer able to wash my own car at my house. I could goto a coin wash, but with the little free time I have, I would rather just pay the guy $15 to wash it.

Ive gotten more and more lazy during my life about washing cars. When I was in H.S., I would wash my truck (Dropped S-10 w/ competition stereo) every few days, wax every other week. College - I washed my car once every two weeks when I went home. First few years after college still about once every two weeks. Then I took my current job and it went from every two weeks to about once every month or once every two months on my old car (or less). Now with the new fit I shoot for once every two weeks, and once a month I wax the car.

I hate dirty cars also - so even if it's raining I wash my Fit weekly. My plan for the winter is to use the Optimum No Rinse 2x per month myself and then pay someone to handwash it 2x per month, since I hate the cold!

I have a really popular "touch free automatic" car wash right next to my condo but I'm worried about the harshness of the chemicals, so I haven't been able to get myself to try it.... Does anyone know if those things are bad for your paint?? It just seems like they'd need to use some pretty harsh cleaners/chemicals for them to clean well without needing to touch the car.

It's been raining since i bought my car 5 weeks ago and i have been washing her every week. i could take it to a car wash and have them hand wash it but there's not one close to my house. It only cost $1.50 to have the car washed here and $10 to include wax.

Thumbs up And These are a Few of My Favorite Things

One of my favorite things to do is foam down the car first and wash (2 Bucket) with micromit megs car wash, and wax Megqiers nex gen wax, once a year clay bar with meg's detailr, megs swrill remover and polish then 2 coats of n.g.wax. MzFit is going on 2 yrs old and looks better than the day we picked her up from the dealer.......... (but that's not saying much sad 2 say.) Clean the interior detail the jams, under the hood and pull the wheels and detail the wheels and inter fenders. Look'n Gooood and shin'n like you can't tell were the gloss of the glass ends and the gloss of the paint starts. And then take my Bride out for a cup of Starbucks now that's a good day my friends.....

Ugh, believe it or not my car gets filthy! I am always occupied with other stuff to take the time to wash my car, wether its work, school, or detailing someone elses car... When I wash my car, I REALLY wash my car, so it takes me about 3 hours. But I get extremely bored washing my car, maybe its cause it always looks the same? Everybody expects me to have such a clean car since im a detailer but its a disaster right now...

One of the last meets I took my SC300 to someone walked up to my car and was like, "Is this dirt I see?!?"

People seem to think detailers carry some shield around their cars.
