i cant remember what was said in the other supercharger thread, but will the kraftwerks kit have an intercooler? i was doing some reading about supercharging in general, and most things seemed to point that the cars engine will run VERY hot without one....

will the jacksons provide an add on that can be had at time of purchase?

The IC will be optional. The rotrex doesnt run Hot at all, therefor it is not necessary to run the IC. i can drive the car all day and still put my hand on the piping, id like to see someone do that on a turbo app lol can you say 3rd degree burns?

centrifugual s/c's dont run nearly as hot as their roots, or twin-screw cousins. air still heats as it's compressed, but the rotrex style is much more efficient, so they dont have as much of an issue with heat. that being said; an IC is always a good idea with boost.

Chris, Lyshko, thanks!

i had totally forgotten that it was a rotrex supercharger, and not one of the other types.

Chris; my buddy has a boosted eg intercooled and all, and its still smoking!

I think i'll look into the intercooler as well though. just to be on the safe side.

Whats that general rule of thumb... For every 10 degrees colder the air a 1% increase in hp?

How is the benefit of an available option to the kit which improves hp and performance and reliability of said kit not relevant to a thread about that kit? An intercooler makes any FI car produce more power and more reliable for one reason... COLD AIR.

The Base kit will be non-intercooled. There will be an intercooler upgrade available!

The Base kit will be $3495

From SEMA:
The Skunk2 Fit R is now a KraftWerks/Skunk2 Fit R! The Rotrex kit on this vehicle is a one-off race version, but allows for further high-boost study!

Enjoy!

I was saying the explanation of why a intercooler is gonna make more power is not relevant. this was already talked about MANY times, just dont want to fill this thread of "how a intercooler works" instead of what the thread is about. The supercharger.

The price looks v. good. I hope the kit allows for torque higher than 140 at low RPM. That's what I am looking for and also why I prefer the S.C. over the Turbo. So let the good news fill my hearth with joy!

Out of 240 posts on this thread only 10 even mention the word "intercooler" and only 2 actually state any of the benefits with any explanation as to why. I would hardly call that MANY posts,( a fraction of one percent), and it seems that there is confusion as to reasons behind the benefits and useage of an intercooler,( including yourself when you said that you might add one " for better air flow"). I just thought that a little factual info on the subject would be good for everyone... Knowledge is always good for everyone, and knowing the benefits and why they occur might cause more people to decide they want this option, in turn making more money for the Oscars at same time as putting smiles on faces from the added performance. Maybe it's just me but I thought some good posts on this subject would benefit this thread, which certainly does have it's fair share of posts which TRUELY have no relevance to the system. Anyway I apologize for bogging down this thread with irrelevant BS, won't happen again.
