I'm going to assume that the base kit probably maxes out the stock injectors, so the addition of the header will further strain the stock injectors and you could run lean. The new injectors should give you more than adequate fuel since it should support 10# of boost in the high boost kit. Better to let Oscar Jr. give you a definitive answer, but that is my assumption given the FAQ and other posts in this thread.

thanks for the injector specs ojr, i had been wondering myself.

illusive, you are correct, the base kit dyno was on stock injectors, which do get maxed out by the kit.

If I may ask, why such a small increase? Why not go with 240cc inectors or even 310cc?

Those should be able to maintain stock driveability and give you much more room for upgrades.

It just feels like 205cc injectors will be above 80% duty cycle on a 10psi kit with other supporting mods no?

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I'm used to domestics, but those seem really small to me. If memory serves correct, to convert to lb/hr you divide by 10.5. That would make a 205cc about 19.5 lb/hr. That's still a really small injector for a FI application.

I'm guessing really high fuel pressure???

1 atm is 14.7 psi, so 5 psi is +34% air and 10 psi is +68% air?

I remember someone said the stock 180cc injectors don't like to run over 80% duty cycle. Perhaps the 205cc injectors are more aggressive than stock in this regard.

205cc / (80% * 180cc) = +42% peak fuel delivery? Seems fine for the 5# kit, so maybe the 10# kit comes with larger injectors yet. Or maybe my math is all out of whack...

The Upgraded Injector Pack is for the Base kits ONLY. We are not talking about higher boost levels.

Mr_ET:
You will get a Check Engine Light with an injector 20% larger than stock on a stock ECU. That's just how it is. You cannot run a 240cc or 310cc on a completely stock ECU, unless you use a type of piggyback that will change what the ECU sees. Remember, the ECU NEVER sees the SuperCard.
Also, you will not have crisp start-up with injectors above 20% on a completely stock ECU.
So no, you will not be able to maintain stock drivability with that large of injector.

Yes, you would be out of injector at 10PSI with a 205cc injector. That's why the High-Boost Kit uses MUCH larger injectors. We can do that on a stock ECU because the Hondata Reflash adjusts the stock ECU to accept boost and the larger injectors. This allows us to have crisp start-up and stock drivability, with the extra large injectors.

GAFIT:
The Fit has a returnless fuel system and the stock fuel pressure is used. We use stock fuel pressure all the way to 10 PSI.

So folks, that is why we chose the 205cc. It fits perfectly with the parameters we wanted... A simple bolt-on upgrade, that could work the stock ECU and support our Header/Testpipe customer.

One last question Oscar,
What exactly does the injector upgrade package entail? Is it just injectors or does it have some type of Fuel management change that is included? I'm just curious because it looks like I'm going to have to buy this kit in order to support my header and would still like to be able to swap the car over to CARB legal standards when I have to get my smog in a short period of time (ex: swap only injectors over).

Thanks
