hmmmm if it isn't needed would new spark plugs reduce too much heat and cause problems? Did you swap your spark plugs JDMchris?

I dont think it would cause any problems, Oscar stated in the pre consolidated (dont know if it was kept for this one) That these are NOT needed. I have OEM plugs.

The 13 is for IRIDIUM plugs only, for regular plugs it's 11 with a smaller gap. And as I said there is no colder replacement for IRIDIUM plugs.

Replacing your stock plugs with one step colder will cause no problems. I run them in my car with no SC and minor mods and they work just fine.

The only way you may cause problems is if you drive like a little old lady grannie and the only problem would be that they load up a bit and that is easily corrected by a blast on the highway to "CLEAN THEM OUT".

Remember, the website services all of our supercharger kits, not just the Honda Fit kit.

Plugs and thermostat are not needed, especially at 5 PSI.

If you feel the need to change your plugs at only 5 PSI, one step colder with standard gap will be fine. We run stock plugs on all of our cars during testing to ensure proper operation of our kit on completely stock engines. We have run the Fit kit with stock plugs to over 10 PSI, without a hiccup.

If you are preparing for heavy track abuse and/or a hot summer, you should consider the cooler thermostat. If you are in Canada, you do NOT want that cold thermostat in the winter. Your engine will finally warm up, just as you arrive at work.

Remember, this is a bolt-on kit. NO ADDITIONAL PIECES REQUIRED OR NEEDED. We have track tested and abused our kit with a stock thermostat and stock plugs, and never had any issues.

It is great to hear everyone enthusiastic to take care of their vehicles, and put the proper pieces in for smooth operation. But I want to make it clear that this equipment is certainly not required.

And for the 734,652nd time (this question is asked at least once every 5 minutes), do we know when its shipping yet?

how hot of a summer? nc doesn't get super hot, but the weather has been so weird the last couple of years, you never know. its usually because of all the humidity.

I see triple didgets during the summer regularly. I was making trips in 110+heat with no problems.

good to hear! but i'm also a native so.californian, and lemme tell you, 80 degree weather here in nc feels 10x worse than 80 degree weather in cali!

but 110 is another story...i think we've been up there, but not exactly one ten. its miserable. But i don't think our engine and this kit are so sensitive that this is going to affect them much. besides, i'm usually coasting, on the freeway, so it shouldn't be an issue.

okokok, I know those plugs aren't needed, but will we see any gains with new spark plugs or will it just be there to prevent detonation? I definitely can't do the thermostat as advised by OJr. since I'm in Canada.

Let's stay on topic folks

So my big question is if colder plugs will help gain some extra hp or tq. Or is this simply to prevent detonation?

You're not going to see any significant increase, if any, with the colder spark plugs at 5 PSI.
