CJUNG

did you ever figure out the inspection thing?
I'm here in charlotte and am getting ready to hook up the HKS turbo kit
Already looking at having to remove my downpipe and put back on OEM cat and potentially the header as well so I can pass inspection.
Still not sure about it though, I know that they hook up to your ECU to check emissions, and I'm fairly sure they don't actually test the exhaust output.
Any info about this pls share.

How was install?

Did it include everything?

Did you get a SSQV or what?

Any dyno/track numbers?

Any problems?

I am seriously considering this kit. A local HKS dealer can get it for me.
I have the hks kit and am thinking of selling it if your interested. Install was easy. You get the ssq. DOnt have any numbers for you. Very reliable power. Very fun to drive if you like the effect of having a turboed car. All the things you need are included in the kit you can basically diy on a weekend.

Why do you want a lot of BOV noise?

Hahaha I have mine re-circ'd and it still makes a good deal of noise.. even if I only build up 1-2psi using a Greddy Type-S.

I think it is surging a bit too might be time for an upgrade. Doesn't by-pass enough air, or at least do it fast enough for >65lbs/min @ 38psi. I think I need a TiAl 44 or 50mm. or maybe I need to screw with the boost lines and the spring..

What are you using? I forget do you have a T25 turbo?

I would NEVER run a turbo without a BOV....it's like having sex without a condom....you might be ok for a while....but in the long run....

Ya compressor surge makes for an expensive problem real fast. Especially if you end up eating parts of the comp. wheel.

Overboosting/overspeed of the turbo is bad news as well. So you don't want to run it past it's rated pressure ratio's either.

Have you ever had a turbine wheel shoot out the exhaust pipe because you broke the shaft?

WTF I ordered this kit from Import Performance for 3200.00 and in the specs it stated it came with BOV.
The owner like 4 days later calls me and says the price has gone up to 3600.00 and the BOV is no longer listed on their spec page.
Is HKS really jackin their prices up? if so I wonder why?
Still looking for the best deal if anyone has any suggestions PLS let me know
I have already gone down the google list.

I am even looking at the TR1 now b/c it comes with injectors. I already have a HKS cat delete. Any suggestions? Has anyone fooled around to much with retuning the Greddy Ultimate themselves?

NC has the car running when conducting this test, any suggestions???????????????
You can unplug the cable then start the car it works, for clearing codes and inspections but dont drive it or leave it running for a long time without having the F-Con IS plugged in.

That is fantastic news
That beats the hell out of looking for a shady place to get inspected.
