Can't wait for this to come out. Good to see JR back in the game. Trying to decide betweent this and the T1R Kit.

 

I feel like I am waiting for christmas and there is three different santas to choose from, all with different gifts. After the latest posts for the Hasport mounts, it sounds like JR was right behind the k20 Hasport Fit in times. It definity sounds like a competitive playing field right now.

This sounds like a comparison test for Sport Compact Car Mag to do, they need something cool to do lately.

What kind of tires are you guys running? I didn't realize you were running the stock rims either. Interesting.

 

For the Time Attack and threat of rain, we had two sets of wheels and tires. We put our Falken Azenis on the stock wheels, and the RA1's on the Enkei RPF1 wheels.

RA1's That's what I bought for the track , and have Falken Ziex for daily use because couln't find the azenis locally .

I forgot..... both on the konig heliums ( I switch them) because I am too broke to keep the originals (SOLD)

 

The AJ-Racing kit will also be a great addition to comparison tests between the current Fit options. Three different attitudes: the Hasport K20 Fit, AJ-Racing Turbo Fit, and Jackson Racing Supercharged Fit! And now that the Manufacturers have had more engineering time with them, I expect a great battle!

somewhere in this thread Oscar said he will eventually be offering an intercooler but as an add-on. To my knowledge there are plenty of cars that come with turbo or SC from the factory with no intercooler. I'm sure Oscar has done enough R&D to know if it is required or not.

 

Jackson Racing built its reputation for building turn-key reliable supercharger kits, all without the use of an intercooler.

Yes, it is safe to run without an intercooler, especially with the new Rotrex unit. Obviously, cool air is what everyone wants going into their engine, and so we will have an intercooler option. But the intercooler is not a necessity. We have not yet ran an intercooler at any track events, so we could prove the kit reliability without the use intercooling.

This last summer we had our 10 PSI kit non-intercooled, to see the how well the Rotrex worked in the heat. Our Fit kit, at a constant 4000 RPM load on the dyno in over 100F degree outside temperatures, saw IAT sensor temps of 150F degrees. That is extremely good!
For a reference, a typical Eaton Roots unit at 10 PSI would be hovering near 300F temperature; on a normal day!

So to answer your question, forced induction does not always mean an intercooler is necessary.

150F degrees on a 100 degree day with 10psi of boost?? That is pretty darn impressive as I would imagine the compressor alone getting that hot sitting near the exhaust manifold.
