LED tailights, install, convert, DIYs

Not that hard to install once you know where the screws are, 3 behind the taillight, and 1 hidden under the rear bumper ! (took me 30 mins to figure that out ... LOL )
took me 15 mins to install the second one :P

I got mine off eBay for $260 after s&h but the price has gone down some now making them about $210 last time I looked. And they did require some modification (the sockets are different) and wiring (wires too short on pass. side) to work. Other than that they fit perfect.

LED tail light Bulbs... need help
There was a post on here i read a few months ago about led replacement bulbs for not just the fit, but all cars. The cool thing about these bulbs was that they had legs like spiders that you had to fold back when intalling, and then they pop out once in... and you get an led look from the stock setup... If you remember this, and know where to find these, please help...

I think if you have the JDM LED taillights, you might be able to put the three leg LED signal bulb in there...5 leg one you are taking a risk...but three leg looks OK...don't hold me to that though, I would get a set, but for $60, it's not worth it in my book...
I'm a member on hidplanet.com and these were tested, modified, and retested. The output is mediocre. If they used higher quality higher output LEDs in the bulb setup, it would work great. I wouldn't recommend using these in your housings, they won't put out enough light, especially in the daytime. I had LED bulbs on my Accord and I swapped them out quickly because you couldn't tell I was braking or turning in daylight.

They are bright enough to be seen in the daytime. I'm also considering the white backup bulbs but I have too many things going on right now so if anyone tries them please let me know how you like them.

Also you know that you'll have to use load equalizers to run LED turn bulbs. You can't replace the flasher with an LED compatible one since they integrated it into the instrument cluster.

Those LEDs are good for forward lighting. This is hte problem with LEDs: they're directional lighting. People behind you will see them but since they are facing outward, there is no light being sent to the reflectors as a halogen does. This means that people on the sides can't see, and the visibility is reduced because the reflector is larger and more noticable. Those are an improvement over the traditional 'bulbs' I see but I still wouldn't trust them. Neither those or those 12-24 stacks of LEDs piled on to each other...
People on HIDplanet found out that the spiderlites WERE good LEDs, but they weren't getting enough current to make them totally useful. If you swap them out for different LEDs it will work, join hidplanet.com for further info. Its not too hard if you're electrically inclined...
