Its a paint, kind of. Its called hydro imaging. the used a vinyl that dissolves in the water leaving the patter, then they dip the part in and it transfers over.

aw thanks, i was really happy with it i actually have another one i might be painting and selling.

 

here's my contribution to this thread, went with red and taffy white, classic..

its a metallic paint then i added a coat of some really glittery sparkle clear and finished it off with a few lacquer coats. it took like an hour and 9 coats of white paint to get the letters nice. In all I probably have like 15-20 coats of crap on that thing. In the sunlight its really glittery and shiny. came out really good so i am happy.









at the same time i also painted the fog housing and made the lens yellow. painting is fun and i rock at it. still waiting on the nhbp headlights, can't wait until tuesday..
