$285 for spring seems nice. are they both that price? $200 for installs.. wow. i rather do it myself. lucky i have family friend that have a shop that can probably mentor me.
Hey Friends288,

Are you looking for some lowering springs? I'm willing to part with my Teins if you're interested. 1.8" front and 1.2" rear. I want to get some springs like the GF210s cause I find my Fit to be a little too low for my liking. If you want something lower, like the Tanabe DF210s then the Teins are perfect for you.

My Tein springs have only been in for about a month now, I'd be willing to let them go for real cheap if you want them. PM me if you're interested.

haha, I decided to put an end to rubbing crap last night.

I am going in this afternoon to look at some new rubber. Hopefully swap out my 205's for 195's by the end of today. Something nice too, none of this Korean made junk. They handled well, but man does it sound like the world is ending at high speed.

Oh man, I had all my hopes and dreams shot down one by one today

I took it in to a few places and they all either didn't have 195's or they were crazy expensive eurospec (280$ each, plus at least two weeks ording time).... I was considering my options when suddenly I was picturing how screwed I was in the future with a flat!

So I went off to the fender rolling place somebody had reccomended to me. Met with the guy, soon realised I couldn't roll the plastic bumper (right where it is rubbing) and although they could have tried cutting it he was concerned that they would end up weakening it so much the bumper might just fly off if I hit a hard enough bump... hardly a desirable situation

Running out of options, I went back to the place I picked them up. They were really good and they went above and beyond to help me out.
We threw around a few idea's but in the end the most logical was ordering in some new rims with a +45 offset and slapping the crumby korean tires on them I only had two choices of rims that fit this application, so I went with an RTX something.

Oh well, I guess I have to look at the bright side. Tires that don't rub always better. I forget what rim I picked, was a 5 spoke with machined lip.

It definitely does suck that our Fits have such a high offset and our fenders are really not too cooperative. I've was on the fence about getting 17's from a friend with a +42offset, but i knew they wouldn't work without having to do some cutting etc.

I am still planning on getting some 15s... I'm waiting on a price for the Enkei RPF-1s w/+41m offset.. and i'm just gonna run my stock tires til I turn them into slicks heh.. I'm stoked.. the RPF-1s only weigh approx. 9lbs per wheel, which should make a huge difference i think.. its down to either the Enkei RPF-1s, Konig Heliums, SSR Competition Type-Cs or Weds Sport Sa90s. The offsets of these wheels is between +40 to +43mm, which I have come to understand should work without rubbing on the stock tires. 195/55's.

Just wanted to let any Fit owners in the Calgary area know that I am going to sell my TEIN S-TECH lowering springs. Friends288 gets first dibbs on them since I offered to that person first, but if Friends288 doesn't want them then they are up for grabs.. Bought them new from Speedtech for 290 taxes in. They retail at 299US retail.. They ride real nice, not too stiff, but its just too low for me. I've only had them in for a month so they're pretty much mint. If you're interested PM me and I'll let you know how much I'm willing to let them go for

I used to have Racing Hart CP-035Rs on my 2000 Si-R with 205/40R17 Yokohama Paradas on them... They were whisper quiet until I lent my wheels to a buddy while I was getting engine work done. He drove around for about 3000kms on them and gave them back.. unfortunately for me, his camber was so bad that my tires wore unevenly and screwed up the tread.... When I put them back on my car the tires were sooooo loud from 50kph and up.. I sold the Paradas and got Kumho Ecstas.. it went quiet again.

Kumho tires are Korean.. perhaps its just the Nexen brand that CMS sells.. Speedtech has Falken Ziex 205/40R17s on sale there.. pretty cheap too, not sure how they are quality/noise wise, but its worth a try.

lol, I wish I had a set of Kumho's . My favorite brand is actually Yokohama, I have owned lots of thier tires and they have yet to let me down. These tires were bungled in with the rims so I can't complain too much

Oh I did manage to find the wheels they ordered, they are 17" RTX Neurotoxin.
(Oh man I hope you guys are right about the cure all +45mm offset )

I am not totally sold on the look, I am hoping they look nice once they mount them up. The other downside is that I think these things are heavy monsters.

i don't want any rubbing. the gf210 only lowers the rear .9", the front 1.5" i have seen pictures and the carl ooks good, there will not be any rubbing and the rear of the car will be much firmer..the oem rear springs suck!!!!! $285 for the springs, $200 for the install, $485 total. doing it yourself is rather easy..i just don't always have the time.. after the install, probably later this week i can be available for you to have look! FUN FIT

well, i have had my car a year and only now i am putting money into the toys for car..guess i just wanted to be sure i liked the car first...and would be planning to keep it for awhile...would be tough to put a ton into the car only to find you want something else in a year..gas prices now help make the choice to keep the car for awhile a bit easier..lol

if you're not in a rush, I'd be willing to sell them to you for a dollar per number of posts I have just to help a fellow member out. Funny... if ppl look at this post in like 6 months from now, they'll say you got ripped off hahaha.. little do they know..

I'm gonna probably order my tanabe's in the next week or 2, and when they come in I'll install them and put the Teins back into the box.

Hey DaveVM, I got a chance to look up your wheels online. Nice design, I like the little scorpion on the spoke you should post some pics up if you get a chance.

Is it just me or does the RTX website suck? I can't find a lot of specific wheels and the ones that are there lack specs. I know they are just a spin off of Ikon, but you would think they could at least touch up thier site to be a little more user friendly!

hey sugarphreak, the scorpian just happems to be my sign..or there of (cusp to the minute) so i think it was karma....i will be painting the scorp red, with the calipers and i think the rear drums also..to go with the jdm red honda emblems...

sounds to me like you bought your set up from Bob at CMS? i have purchased 4 sets of wheels and tires from CMS and like the Kumho..i have the top line performance summer on 1 car and the top line all season on another...plus Kumho winters for the FUN FIT..no issue with any of my Kumhos and i even had michlens i dumped after a week to run my all season Kumhos on one of my other cars...

so r your wheels on? takes about a week to get the rtx from montreal so i expect you must be rolling?

i didn't realize you had a SSM...so is mine..not many of our colour around..i am sticking with the black and silver scheme other than the few red highllights...

i have done a bunch of stuff and i am just waiting for 2 more mods, one i expect next week and the other the week after, before i post some pics...

see ya...signed FUN FIT and UFO R66

ps. rtx site sucks..but wheels r nice!! many ask where i got them...
