To me, its a modern version of survival of the fittest; At least the part about using unemployment to buy and sell "items of investment". Getting intentionally fired is a totally different subject though.

 

Except I see it as the opposite. By having these 'social welfare' programs, governments are eliminating the idea of survival of the fittest, by allowing the weak members of society to be a drain on the strong.

4 days without A/C and temperatures over 105 dropping into the mid 80s when I finally get to sleep at about 4 AM.... At least I'm not living in the jungle out of my mind with malaria... It's nice to have old experiences as a reference for when you think things are bad.. It is only 101 degrees now thank goodness.

I'm at work all day, dorm all night, and driving in between. A/C all day for meeee

 

Hey TC, if it makes you feel any better, im actually cold right now. the A/C is turned a bit too far down in my office...

 

There is supposed to be a cold front coming through in a few days and the high temperature is going to be in the upper 90s... It is 98 degrees inside right now.. The A/C repair guy should be by with the blower fan shaft in a little while... I'll get the fat redneck boys from down the road come up and give me a hand with moving a window unit from the barn to install in my bedroom window.... This is already the hottest summer on record for this pat of the state.

 

temperatures reach a sweltering 79 up here..... just rolled down my window to cool off. I have actually never turned my a/c on.
