Powdercoat on my wheels has F'd itself.

what happened to them Sam?

 

I'm not too surw what's happened to them.
All I know is the Chrome finish has completely gone from the 2 wheels that are on the car.
Only wash the wheels with regular shampoo and warm water, and polish on the lips.
Really weird and I can't get the finish back.
Gonna have to get the paint cans out...

 

sounds strange. you may want to ask the people who powder coated your wheels for their opinion on the matter.

 

I have. i rang them yesterday and they said it shouldnt have happened, and that I should take them back so that they can redo them.
But that's too much hassle. I just built up the other 2 wheels and the other ones are built with tyres on.

 

damn, that sucks. hopefully you figure something out. I'm sure they will look good

 

Wow that sucs man.. u can get them looking good again.. maybe something reacted with the chrome and striped it off the rims?

 

Yeah I'm thinking something in the shampoo must have reacted with the powdercoat.
But it shouldn't have. A little pissed off but guess it gives me an excuse for a colour change.
