Just over 4,000 miles now and I'm still looking at what works and what does not. For sure, stop and go driving kills the eco as well as not moving with the engine on. Well the stop part if done right with coasting and coasting down in gear provides gains. No surprise I'd say there.

I have now found the optimum speed on Interstates for me. At 55mph in the area I live in, I'm not holding up anyone and with 1 sec drafting of big box trucks I can exceed 50mpg easy as pie. With any kind of a tail wind over 55 has been seen. This will not work well on a 2 lane Interstate because you just hold up the gas hogs in a hurry, but on I-95 with maybe 5+ lanes it's not an issue. My average of +42 is the result of getting to and from that interstate part of my commute. Ohh that 1 sec drafting part is good for an easy 5 to 7mph at 55mph.

Other than increased tire pressure I have made no eco changes to my Fit. It's all about how you driev IMHO

PS can anyone read what my Fit says?
hope this helps
