Just removed my muffler today!! Put some wd-40, waited about ten minutes and removed both bolts and the muff. Took all of ten minutes! Sounds good, kind of low, maybe cause I'm running off the stock intake? Everyone else's sounded louder more aggressive. I'll see if I can take some video this weekend. I plan to have a straight pipe made with either a borla or monza tip.

 

i just got mine's done over this weekend and a muffler shop to make me a pipe with a tip.....just curious did anyone get pulled over yet for this setup? tonight few mins ago a cop made a U turn and followed me for 30s then made another U turn to chase a camry without its lights on......so that camry took the heat off me....but I just wonder if anyone got pulled over yet and had it ref checked already....digits on the db?

 

im waiting on getting a straight pipe maid for my axle back.

basically just a 2 1/4 piping with a 16 inch glasspack and straight pipe all the way back.


so far running without a muffler i havnt attracted any cops. it isnt THAT loud. my buddyclub exhaust was louder.

I have a whole 2000 miles on my fit. Got it 3 weeks ago and I gotta say I really like the way this makes it sound. Such an easy mod. Anyone who thinks they may have to worry about fumes....what do you think happens when you are stopped at a light behind an old beater pickup with dual exhaust with no emissions control and its all going right into your engine compartment right into your car. I went to get my kids some ice cream tonight, no muffler and couldn't smell a thing. Got behind such a truck and it was HORRIBLE! The guy knew it was though and turned his truck off while waiting for his food. Bottom line, we are all sucking somebody's fumes, I'd rather suck fit fumes then most anything else if I'm going to be doing it anyway! Also, pretty obvious here that the muffler doesn't do anything for fumes, just sound, should not make any difference.

 

God i love it.. but im scared my parents will get mad so i put it back on... i made the uninstall worth it w/ lots of revvign and racing the engine though... damn it 3-2 downshift= MAJOR backfire sex

just try it out! it takes like 10 minutes to take it off and put back on. Trust me, i was scared at first but it's just soo simple!

 

the sound of running no muffler is the same on both transmissions.
kinda wish it was a little bit louder but oh well, im happy with the deep growl it gave.

That guy removed his cat. That will increase decibels dramatically compared to just removing your muffler.

that is not the same as a stock fit.

btw, everyone removing their axleback, dont lose that donut gasket! its a $20 part from honda, or you can hope that your local muffler shop has them.

 

I reused mine when I had a custom straight pipe made up for like $30.

Also Fits sound like ass with no cat.

 

yeah, im just saying, dont lose that gasket. it'll fall off if you drive with no axleback. i had to get one from honda XD
