The Post Whore Thread V.2
^ HAHA, nice! Dude's just mad because he got his pee-pee smacked.
Thanks bro. I like it much more than my last job (was at a 10 minute oil change place) due to actually being able to work on cars and do stuff I was trained to do at school. I do miss the former coworkers and clients that came in BUT I can't pass up this new job's pay AND I get weekends off.
I hear ya on the old days, lots of members were going mad with modifying there Fits whether it were forced induction, stanced related, autocross/track prepped, or a simply done up daily. Now we just have cluster fucks of stock GEs... which is nothing wrong with that... but I know darn well someone out there is trying to push the envelope like Lyon for example.
Pretty soon my little late bloomer will be coiled, have Hawk or EBC pads with slotted rotors, and KWSC'd. Just gotta save up a bit more and wait until after emissions testing to SC it. My biggest concern is the CEL popping on after boosting it even with the catalyst converter still installed. If that doesn't pop up, I'm shooting for 135WHP.

I'm kind of glad we don't have too many Ray's/Kelso's/Eriel's/TOOL's/etc. at the moment, they'd convince me to keep spending on the Fit.
And I think the big issue is, Fit prices are rising like there's no tomorrow, when the GD came out, you could get a brand new sport for around 15k, now they're $20k and up! That shit cray. And a lack of easy bolt-on parts, that'll knock most people out.
5MT swap it too! I don't recall seeing that done before haha.

I'd love to pick up another engine and A/T sport trans and build both of them for shiggles. I noticed that Bisimoto has pistons that would raise the compression ratio to 11.5 to 1 as well as rods, titanium valve springs and spring retainers... these as well as getting the crankshaft and piston/rod assembly balanced and a nice cam I might be able to safely hit at least 8k RPMs if I do my research right on what specifications would be needed... then again, that's me thinking/dreaming out loud.

I noticed that as well with Fits and other quality fuel efficient. cars. Its common here to see 12.5k for a GD sport with at least 90k miles on the clock. And also, that is the biggest thing (aside from willing buyers of engine performance parts) that's hurting the GE is the that the exhaust manifold pretty much cannot be separated from the head if I remember/read/heard right. You can find just about everything else for a GE that a GD has BUT forced induction (state side that is), cams, intake manifolds (CRZ's may be compatible), etc. Hopefully with B-spec starting soon, manufactures would start making more bolt ons and maybe even FI kits for the GE.
How cool would it be if I put spray on my Fit? lol. My brother is talking about putting a turbo on his 8th gen and im like fuuuk I cant let him be faster then me.... NOS! I hate this time a year the car has been just sitting in the garage for 3 months cant wait untill April im taking that bitch out again.
I dont go into the GE sections all that much but as much as I hate to say it I think alot of the GE owners are just dreamers and talkers. Dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with dreaming we all do it, but to always see people like some day I will do this or have that gets kind of old.
I miss the Ray's/Kelso's/Eriel's/TOOL's/etc of this site, there the guys that made me want to make my car better and I wanted my car up to there level.

I wonder how much power it would make on spray. One common draw back with nitrous I've heard is that typically a step colder plug is needed in order to safely run it. Has something to do with pre-ignition if I remember right. What did your K come out of?
That's cool, there's nothing wrong with dreaming. That's pretty much the spark of how many great things even came to existence. It would be nice though if people would actually follow through with those dreams. The GE would be a prime candidate for an NA build since it does have i-VTEC or even supercharging to get around the whole exhaust manifold issue IF people would start fabbing up/piecing together parts and going for it much like the case of the GD. Heck, a roots or even better a twin-screw supercharger would almost be perfect for the GE if someone could get the design right. I'd love to have one of those for my GD.
Ray, Kelso, Towlie, TOOL, FELIX, Blue Cell, JDMChris and all those alike all had/have some great cars on the forum (Kelso's is my fav out of the bunch) but respectably speaking weren't my cup of tea (excluding Kelso's). All of which looked bad ass in their own way but I prefer functionality over form... but still don't mind a good looking car hence why I dig Kelso's Fit.
Fortunately though, there are a handful of people that are still building/modding GDs (like you, JCrimson, and Texas Coyote for example) and possibly some others hidden away trying to figure out what capabilities the GE really has.

Here's a kicker, I'm keeping it A/T unless I can figure out a way to do a CRZ 6 speed swap (which I doubt).

I paid 10k for my 08 Base with 50k miles, so pleased with my deal, wish I had bought it like 2 years prior and gotten it for like 8k with 30k miles for a sport.
Yeah, I forgot a couple of lines in there, but y'all got the just of it haha

Oh, and Lion sprayed his GE. there is a thread and vids floating around somewhere. he was about the only person semi-serious whatsoever about toying with the GE :/
....oh and nice wheels hootie. I definitely prefer these of the konigs. any plans on lowering your car?

We talk about how little aftermarket support there is for the fit, but there is even less for the GE. You cant get shit. Not even damn reflash. Fucking lame. Makes me want to get rid of my car for something else... which I am seriously, seriously considering and may do by this summer. I love this car, but there is only so much you can do.
OUCH. TR look nice doe.
@Hootie new wheels look good, really sucks about the wheel falling off. Its on the driver side too, ouch so every time you walk up to your car you have to look at it.
I get a real kick out of reading a old build thread I have on another forum. When I first got the car people where like K swap it and I said
"A K20 swap would be bad ass but I dont think ill end up doing that, I am pretty confident though that I will be getting a supercharger in a year or two"
That was in 08. I never even really thought about doing the K swap until Jan-Feb of last year. I was at the point where I thought to my self I love the car and I have already gone this far with it so lets step it up and throw a K into this thing.

I swear to God, I am going to murder my kid. First he smashes up the side of my car running into the concrete stanchions at the gas station - $1500 worth of repair. Now he got a crack in my windshield AND when he drove it into the garage tonight, there was a very strong smell of something burning!!! I couldn't tell what it was, it smelled somewhere between oil and electrical. I freaked out! Unfortunately, this kid also has no sense of smell so unless something actually catches fire, he's not gonna smell it. I think I can't let him drive it any more! It's driving me CRAZY! My baby is getting RUINED! Arrrrggggghhhhh
