The Post Whore Thread V.2
^^ What she said. Driving a manual isn't too hard. The hardest thing (in my opinion) that you'll have to do in driving a manual is starting from a dead stop... especially when going up hill.
Easy method for me (and I'm not all that great with manuals)...
Clutch all the way in
1st gear
Build RPMs to ~1500-2000...
Ease clutch out while taking point of the clutch's engagement point (when the car starts rolling)
Once you find that point, continue releasing the clutch and begin adding more throttle.
Doesn't work all the time, but it does most. In your case it'll be fine unless you're in an F-250 or bigger.

Cute pup. When did ya'll get/find her?
Her name is Lucy and she showed up Thursday night. We gave her water and made her a palate on the floor of the car port. When we woke up she was still there. I think that means it was meant to be. Friday she stayed in the bathroom and has been with us all weekend. She's adorable and very calm. She plays well with my other dog too. I think we may have some crate issues but I will work on that this week :-)

Knowing how in your mind has nothing to do with actually doing it. The only way to learn is just to keep trying. My sister taught me in a VW Beetle, I think because they are very forgiving on the clutch, where some cars are more tricky. That was a long, LONG time ago now. Once you learn, you can drive anything though. And automatics will always be boring. I drive an automatic because in this city, clutching is too much trouble, but in my ideal situation, I'd be driving a manual.
Borrow another manual car and start again.

Chocolate lab mix? She's going to be a good dog.
I loved the color on that car, C.
In other news--little bit is going to the vet today. Lets cross our fingers for not too much co$t. It's a tough time and I want to be good by helping her out but dang I don't want it to hurt the pocket book too bad. :-/

Ok. The vet visit wasn't TOO bad. She had some intestinal worms so she got some pills for that. Free heart worm pill, 3 shots, and some antibiotics for some pimples on her skin, lol. They also gave her a free bag of dog food and some treats. Along with some good advice for me and the knowledge that she will probably be 60lbs lol.
$125 isn't bad for gaining a member of the family. Shes so sweet!
