Nice find, looks like it would work fine, just use a 3" to 2."5 coupler on the side to the throttle body

Good idea, dosen't look bad at all, only issue I see with that is you will have to get your filter replaced more often because those stock ones aren't made to be washed.

Thing I like about yours is its a cheaper alternative and easier for the people worried about cutting up their box, how does it mount in there?

With the rubber piece that connects the throtle body to the air box and the the rubber elbow from inside the airbox straight to the top part of the filter cover with the sensor and then I secured the filter and sealed it with electrical tape so it looks nice and neat

So the box itself isn't secured to anything?

You could cut off the lower part of the airbox to keep the filter holder, and still use all the funky clips to secure it, I would hate to thing that the only thing keeping the engine from ingesting a bug is E-Tape.

All I am saying is I wouldn't trust E-tape to hold your filter, with the temperature differentials in that area, don't you think the adhesive may fail, and your filter not seal against the housing?

Could I just buy a 2" k&n cone filter and skip the 3"->2" adaptor and tighten right onto the airbox after it's cut up?

huh, i like that flat filter idea. smart thinking.

my GE sounds so frikken boring in stock form vs my GD (intake/exhaust stock) it's rediculous.
